![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you will take another look at the link you will see that the source for all the air is behind the fan. I have an idea Mr Bogart, how about you buy yourself a couple of inline fans (I can personally recommend Vortex and Fantech as I own both and have had good performance with both), hook one up the way you are sure is best and one the other way. Then you can decide and offer advice based on experience, as I am doing. I have set up my own grow system, well documented here, and well as systems for friends so I have experience with these fans in actual use with grow boxes. I am sure your HVAC experience is valuable and you are no doubt competent at what you do, but I can tell you I have set this stuff up myself, both ways, and have talked with and read the materials the manufacturers provide and the information I am giving is sound, correct, and applicable. As for my qualifications, heck I own my own lab and personal care products manufacturing compnay. I do actually have a clue friend. ![]()

![]() | Is there a mazimum cfm that you do not wish to go over in pulling the air through the carbon filter? In other words if you pull it through beyond a certain rated CFM, will it reduce the effectiveness of the activated carbon's ability to neutralize odors and allow some of the scent you are trying to neutralize through the filter?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes you can pull air through a carbon filter too fast and reduce the ability of the carbon to absorb the odor causing molocules. Learned that by experimentation. There may be a source that can give you exact stats on this or even someone here that knows that information, not me. I figured what fan speed to use by gradually slowing the fan down until I no longer had and odor problem. In the case of the carbon filter I use it is a bit over half on the rheostat dial. See the link in my signature about carbon filter. Good luck. ![]()

Probably..... Seems like you'd really have to have a LOT of CFM's to make much difference. Generaly the CFM fan you're using would be determined by the size of your garden. So if you've got that big of a fan I'm assuming you've got a bigger grow. Bottom line is, You're going to want more carbon to clean all that air. On the other hand the air gets circulated more often thru the filter so that might make up for the loss in absorbption time. ![]() Afterburner
