![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey man, Well all you need to do is find a recharger. Maybe to a cellphone, power drill ect ect. Look on the black box you plug into the wall and if it says 12volts your in business. Then all you need to do is wire red to red, blue to blue, or blue to black (depending on colours). Hope that helps, Schmoke

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I know it has to be DC. But i think all rechargers are arent they?? Anyway, mine says output 12v DC 500ma. They are two old cellphone rechargers. We just took them apart, unhooked the red and black wires and connected them to the fans. Im running 2 120mm comp fans off one, and one 90mm off the other. I hope you can get it done. Schmoke

I've considered using an old computer fan as well and thought the easiest way to incorporate it would be to use a small computer power supply. There's usually a couple fan connectors there already plus you can buy more connectors to convert more over to that type of plug to use more fans.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah you can do that. But they can be hard to hook up if it doesnt have plugs for the fan to directly plug into. Usually the fans plug into the motherboard. http://www.hempcultivation.com/420/s...239#post544239 Thats where i learnt to do it if you need to use a powersupply. Its a lot harder than using a cellphone recharger because in a cell charger, there are only two wires and electricity scares me.Schmoke

![]() ![]() | They sell jumpers that plug into the standard 4 prong plug like for your hard drive and the other end is the smaller plug that goes into the fan. There;s usually several of those 4 prong plugs on a power supply. But I see you've done some research on this already. Thanks for the link. I'll definetly try both now.!!!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That’s the easiest way to control computer fans. for about $20 you can get one that will allow you to connect over 120 fan to each controller and control the speed of them. That’s what i currently use for my closet. What you do is get a 12v DC transformer (like the cell phone ones listed or go to radio shack and get one.) then connect the 12v transformer to the fan controller and then just hook the fan right up to it. ![]() My controller will control 120 4" fan per circuit so I could in theory control 480 fans with this 1 controller. And since this fan control is intended for the computer the computer fan plug directly into the controller. To connect more then 1 fan per circuit you have to just splice them into 1 cable and run it to the controller circuit. For me this works awesome because I can control the speed of the fans per the 4 different circuits and have tons of room to grow so to speak. I also like the fact that they are all running on 12v not 120v which is WAY safer around the 20gallons of water in my hydro set up. they are also cheaper to run, cheaper to buy and quieter then 120v fan IMO. Here is a photo of mine in action… I’ll try to get a shot of the inside for ya later today. ![]()

![]() | im not sure the voltage really matters. the way dc works is that it will still run on a small amount of electricity. i have a 4.5v power supply connected to a 12v comp fan and it works fine. (prob not as good as a 12v one) as long as the voltage isnt over the specificied amout then you should be all set (just make sure the black box doesnt get too hot) ive been doing this for about a week and nothing has happened, works fine. ![]()
