![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | After smoking some Inspiration.. I was thinking ,Why not put a Bunch (no pun intended)of Banana Peels in a Gallon Jug,Attach a Heavy Duty Balloon to the Opening &Secure. As the Ethylene gases rise they fill the balloon ~keep adding Peels until balloon is Full, Remove balloon ~attach a valve & some tubing ~ Dispense Gases when & where needed! TA-DA Hey, this could be used with CO2 Too.....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm hesitant to say this, but in my very humble opinion, I think it is unwise to tamper with the natural sex of MJ. Especially if you pay top dollar for quality genetics. I'm willing to bet its a bad idea to try to improve on a breeders work. Especially the top breeders. If you pay some serious bucks, and your looking for a permanent mother, just let nature ride and take your chances. Exposing your seedlings to this type of gas may induce hermy traits. Long story short, get a hermy in a nice grow, its very counter productive. I've never got less then 50/50 on male to female ratio's with any seeds. I'm just thinking out loud, I may be wrong. Just intuition. ![]()

![]() | Since this thread was so long I didn't read all 30+ pages, but I kind of have an idea about the problem with the hermies. Sorry if this is a repeat of an idea, but I thought I would throw it out there. Now in the human genetics, whatever hormones your introduced to early on will cause you to become one sex or the other. So being a male your testosterone dominant, and a female being estrogen and progesterone dominant. The point I'm trying to make is, maybe you have plants that are male dominant, and are pretty much forcing them to become female. I know early on in the thread there was a link to a full article about putting the banana peels into the seed bags to feminize the seeds, and the author stated having a 100% success. Now the last thing I would like to say on the topic of hermies is it could be quite possible that people are putting the bananas in to late and again forcing a male plant to become female. Which in turn would give you a hermaphrodite, just like taking a testosterone dominant fetus and introducing mass amounts of estrogen and progesterone is probably going to give you a hermaphrodite baby or just a really messed up baby. Tell me what you think. And again I apologize if any of this has been stated earlier, as I didn't take the time to go through 30 + pages of reading. OHHH and one last idea, what if you seeded the plants, and then put a dome over them with banana peels in paper towels laying inside the dome? Do you think this would cause mold to form on the plants?

Plant genetics are way to primitive, compared to human genetics. Can't compare the two, and get an accurate answer. We evolve, plants don't.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Use whole green bananas under the plant and let them ripen there. Replace them before there are any bugs - that's just nasty!
