![]() | Okay, My growroom has a door (well duh!) and light escapes from the cracks (where the hinges are). Anyone know a solution to remedy this problem... dm0ca

![]() | You could try using the draught insulation strip ( its about 1/2" inch wide) that goes around the door frame to stop cold draughts in winter, it would block the light leaks fine ![]()

![]() | The stick on foam insulation that is about 1/4" wide and comes in a roll will work on the inside parts of the door jamb. Get several different thicknesses and experiment. This is the stuff that Country Trash is talking about. It is used to seal windows and such. For the hinges you might get some black 6 mil poly and create a cover to be taped on the inside part of the door. Leave plenty of slack and duct tape it on the inside area and you'll still be able to open and close the door. That is a start anyway.

![]() | There are different types of the stick-on foam weatherstripping. The "closed cell" is firm and doesn't compress much, while the "open cell" is soft. I think the soft kind is better, and it squashes down enough so you may be able to put it on the hinge side as well. Then there is color. If you have a choice, dark is better. I started with the white kind and the lights inside the box glowed through it like a Chinese lantern. I replaced it with charcoal-grey foam from Walmat and the problem was solved.
