Ok....i built it.......and should be finished in a couple days
there are picture
each side is 4' W x 4' L x 6.5' H
the entire box is light tight....
caulked with brilliant white caulking and painted with a semi-gloss paint over white primer.
on one side will be the vegetative room
it will be lit with a 400 watt MH
and the other will be the flowering room
it will be lit with a 400 watt HPS
now.....any suggestions on exhaust or air intakes?
they are in the garage so smell and so forth is not a concern of mine.....
but i am not sure what type of exhaust/ventilation to use and still maintain light tight integrity
also the doors will be hinged in the center and will be sealed with weather stripping......and latches
i will include more pictures as it progresses.....

very cool dude. i have something very close to that in my closet. i use 2 130 cfm fans that i rigged myself. they are actually the blower fans from a bathroom exhaust (you know, the kind that look like hamster wheels?) and they do a great job keeping my box cool. have you thought about building on to it also? like adding a clone room or a room for a mother plant? thats my next plan.....

the squirrel cage fans are EXACTLY what i want...but i cant find them cheap enough....or wired for 110v
but i might be able to get some from work
i am sure that once the main box is done...i will be adding on to
it also
a clone room is an excellent idea....

Great Box!!! That looks so solid...I want one too!!!

If I might suggest something tho....ever thought about looking into EVL's? Anyway, I got EVL's on the brain as I am sure everyone knows, hehe. They solved my heat dillema tho. As I type this it is 77.4F degrees and 51% humidity and the Babrometer is steady in the box (Near perfect conditions!). Room temp is 76.3 and 47% humidity.

Also, here is a good example of a box like yours, I really love this box, the 3 different mother strains it allows just blows me away. You should definatly build on a mother chamber and cloning chamber!

Crud, I almost forgot, check that box out for ventilation idea;s too. See the 3 holes on the lower left? PVC pipe that send the air right to where it is needed!!

Not to take anything away from you, that is a great setup your gonna have. I am almost 100% positive that flat white paint is better. Semi- gloss will probably give you hot spots. Anyone agree??

i agree the flat is much better than the gloss or satin...i have painted my box with high reflective roof sealer seems to be just the thing nice box construction i have a plan to build one almost identical but am working on a inside closet at the moment. as far as ventalation i found a source this morning for very good fans temp controled and very cheap. air condition scrap yard of a heating and air contractor all i want that i can take off for free...

hey no worries.....mylar....cheap check on ebay.....still not sure what to do about ventilation.....i am still looking and will order or buy something this week.......i want to find something that will maintain light tightness.....but if not...i will sacrifice the light so i dont get tooo hot for the sisters......ok ...here is with the doors...and one side done.....i will post 2 pics...on with the doors open and one closed......oh and by the way...too late...used semi-gloss.......might change later...
