ok ppl its about to begin, now .... should i use ply wood or MDF? im sure mdf has nasty stuff which could ignight it it gets too hot, but should i just use ply wood to use on the back of the draws and to fill the gaps? im Joining the two drawers so i have more height. i will have to add a new more stronger back and front so what materials should i use?

![]() ![]() | A Jb Ballast for my 250W Venture lighting hps globe. im buying the materials tommrow. so i might just get pine. cheap and solid. mesurments are this is the "inside" of the box. add about 1cm for the thickness. height 113cm ( 44.5 inche ) with 54.5cm ( 21.5 inche ) depth 41cm (16.2 inch ) Im also picking up a few things. a fish tank pump , some air stones. a few gromits. some net pots ( and medium ) white spray paint. looking at some fans. just gonna build the actually box first, i was thinking about the door ..or the fake front draws. you know how u have them grabbing metal and plastic things on your cubbard, to hold the door shut, i was gonna add one in each corner of the front peice just for easy access and more 'stealth' i also gotta figue out my lighting scheam soon too. brand new 250W Hps get up. (reflector and all..but limmited space so might just custom make one . might try this "KoolTube" if i can find the parts.

From what I know about subwoofer installations (a motley group of growers we have here :P) MDF board is cheap.. fairly sturdy.. but absorbs water well ;( With a little spill in your box you could have troubles not to mention humidity buildups you'll have. I'd advise some BC plywood (1/2 inch) as that is what I just bought today and cut up ( !!! :-D) Its strong and > MDF as far as water protection. I think its a bit stronger too but im not sure. Good luck with your box, and the grow of course ;p. --gneugen--

Internet was down for a bit.. didn't get to check up on the site ;p. Your box is looking great! I see a stained finish on the side pieces (from waht the picture shows) and I am simply curious if you plan to make any changes to the front of your box It looks great though as I am a sucker for grow boxes to boot heh. Have fun gettin' started and be safe. Good luck!EDIT: Too stoned to read ;( I see now that you're putting drawers on it so it's certainly gonna be stealthy!! Good job with it man. --gneugen--
