![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well done 3hounds, an excellent guide, nice pics too ![]() Hope you don't mind me imparting my grandfathers potting tips we did this together when I was about 5, ah the memories![]() As a general rule when re-potting I would give them a good watering first, about an hour before to aviod a muddy mess ![]() This softens up the dirt & any dry roots which helps to prevent root damage during the transplant procedure. when filling the new pot, use an old pot to make a hole the right shape for the root mass, just use an empty pot the same size and fill around it, lightly firming so the new dirt keeps the shape when you remove the pot, the rootball should fit snugly into its new home, this will also help stop root damage. I also use the old gardeners tip of putting some brocken pot (or gravel) in the bottom to give good drainage. Regards San

![]() ![]() ![]() | " You So Gooooooodddd......."As usual, excellent, understandable advice. It would if really great if the group could get a friendly, complimentary competition between 3Hounds and Smokinrav as to who can produce the best and most pictoral instruction guides. Just think how much the rest of us would learn !!!!! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, I envision way better guides than this one, but I need to plan it so the husband is around to take the photos. Muddy fingers and a pricey new camera just don't go together. It made me so nervous I had to scale things back a bit. I may do this one over the next time I transplant a bunch. I wanted detailed photos of separating plant roots, rejuvinating rootbound plants, etc.

![]() | Roots will die if prolonged to light right? Can you touch the roots? And what do you do if you accidently screw by tearing alot of the roots or plant just doesn't seem to adapt to the transplant? I know it would take awhile to notice this as patience is virtue in growing MJ.But I heard of people's plants dieing after they transplant. I know when it becomes time for me to transplant hope I do it right.
