You know, this is BS. Ok she was under warrant and should never have driven over the limit either previous or the night in question, but to have 5 shots ring through your car cause you have anger management problems? WTF She never showed a weapon except reversing into an off duty cops car

If it happened here they'd just follow me until I ran out of gas, which wouldn't take long at $8+ a gallon

I feel for the kid having been shot and having a mother with the temperament of a Rhino

This little bit right here says it all. This is the standard procedure in our country. All investigation goes to prove the city/state/federal government innocent/with their rights, and the citizen/foreign country guilty.

i've been hit by someone while driving before. i guess if they were drunk and or stoned it would have been ok for me to shoot the driver and its occupants. sounds good to me.

Shouldn't the headline read "Officer shoots un-armed woman and boy over fender bender"?? The cop didn't have to submit to drug/alcohol testing either.....wonder why.

These are the people that go into law enforcement....corrupt a*#holes just looking to shoot someone.

laws are only there to keep poor people in check, sometimes i think the police profession is only there to give bullies something to do.

they dont do much besides giving tickets and bullying stoners. that and walk around pretending they are in the movies

Woman driving drunk..
Drunk woman nearly causes accident..
Drunk woman.. now pissed starts to drive very aggressively..
Off Duty cop pulls into Lowes Parking lot.. with wife calling 911 to report insane drunk aggressive woman..
Drunk woman pulls alongside off-duty policeman's car.. so he brandishes his weapon in an attempt to get the drunk aggressive woman to back the fugg off.. and backs his vehicle away..
So.. drunk aggressive woman.. decides to call 911 to report that somebody showed her a weapon.. and backs up driving into the off-duty cop's car.

So.. he shoots at her vehicle.. harming her and her son.

The only one I don't feel sorry for in this case is the drunk.. idiotic.. aggressive woman that is driving around like a fuggin maniac.. with her 9 year old child in the car with her.

Well said, I was just about to say that. She was the agressor. She followed him into the parking lot screaming at him and ran into his car. She deserved to get shot in my opinion. I feel sorry for her son. Imagine having that as your caretaker and spiritual advisor. And we wonder why we have troubled youth. The first bullet went through the darkly tinted front passenger window of Silva's vehicle, striking her son in the left leg, and four others pierced her windshield. Two of those slugs struck her in the upper right arm. Also... she broke the law having dark tint on her front windows. If not for the tint her son might not have been shot. That officer might not have been able to see into the car well enough to see if she had a gun or that there was a child in the car.
That's all I have to say.

yep! thats right! he shot at her vehicle hoping that a bullet would stop an automobile, because that totally makes sense, right? i think a more well thought out theory is he shot INTO her vehicle hoping to hit (and thus kill) the driver and the cars occupants.

the story also says that he opened fire after she 'side swiped' his car. i, too, have been side swiped and in NO WAY DID I FEAR FOR MY LIFE. neither should anyone operating under the rationale of common sense. insult to injury, they were going in reverse, so speed wasnt a factor in this man determining his life to be in danger.

the kid would not have been shot if the off duty police officer didnt shoot. i love it when people side on behalf of over-zealous gun owners. not.

sure, she was drunk and driving with her kid, but i STILL dont think that means she should be shot at. sorry if i come across as rude, but for society to advance we must stop hurting one another and we must ALSO stop coming up with exceptional scenarios where hurting people is ok.
