I could see the Federal Government clashing with State Authority now. This should most definitely put the spot light on the government and their outdated laws. This legislation should now be able to open up unbiased independent government funded research on the medical and textile benefits. Eventually we'll be able to import the research from other countries, like the purified liquid THC that allows accurate dosages for medical reasons (Israel), or the variety of strains and infinite possibilities of botanical exploitation (Netherlands), in larger amounts than we've previously been regulated to allow. I see the largest drug reform since the 1930's, that's going to divert frivolous government spending on this "War on Marijuana" and actually stop these real narcotics from eating our culture from the inside out. More money for the important issues of our country, including education, healthcare, and the economy. This reform will bring the U.S.A. back to a real powerhouse with the economic stability to back it up. It'll create jobs in the millions and according to studies in the Netherlands, dramatically lower our crime rate, and allow the thousands of criminalized citizens to return to society. We will have to be careful of inside and outside influences by organized crime groups. We will be triumphant in the long run and eventually the rest of the nation and world will realize the benefits of cannabis. THANK YOU FOR POT SMOKING!!!

Yeah!!!!! The horse is so far outta the barn at this point, they are going to have a very hard time trying to shove it back in, should they ever want to. I wasn't sure I would ever see that in my lifetime...I've been waiting a LONG time for these types of headlines. A L-O-N-G time.

I hoist a blazing pipe to the many martyrs who had their lives totally fucked up by the hypocrisy and idiocy of these atrophying laws.

This can only mean that Change is On It's Way! Any legitimate research on MJ is a GOOD thing in my oppinion. Please, it can't come quick enough! My mother in Law still thinks MJ causes very bad withdraws that can cause you to do unthinkable things to try to get high- I think she has MJ confused with....Heroin? Meth? Crack???? That is so sad how the older generation looks at pot. Very scary in a way! My mother in Law has NEVER tried Nor will she ever try smoking MJ. She suffers from anxiety amoung some other things and can't hardly afford to keep up with script cost. It's realy a shame the Gov. has led so many people to be so afraid of something that could be QUITE benificial to some. And very cost effective- You could go to your back yard instead of the Pharamacy.

You know I've been a heavy marijuana user since I was 15, and in the last two weeks I've had not to smoke for an unrelated charge. I have no feeling of withdraw or an overwhelming desire to toke up yet (except when I see some of the beautiful pics from here...). And truthfully when this passes, I'm probably going to cut my consumption of cannabis down dramatically. Marijuana is one of the most beautiful plants in existence and just seeing it is all I need to feel it's effects!
