![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would agree with all of the farmer statements if the price for the crop was more realisic. True, when you add in risk on top of overhead you do get a hefty profit margin. But, no matter how you slice it, $400 an ounce is exploitation. Plain and simple. and making deep six figure sums a year on selling pot is a lazy man game. I am a business owner and sell a very maeketable product. Even in these times, I'm doing fine. I sell a product at a markup price that generates a win-win scenerio with my customers. They pay a fair price and I make a fair living. I know exploitation when I see it. As far as I'm concerned Big Pharma is just as bad a meth dealer. I also agree with statements the selling pot is not dangerous like selling any other kind of drug. I respect all of your opinions. But I do not, nor will I ever, see selling pot, even illegally for a price like $400 an ouce an honest job. Especially if thats all a person does for income. I feel I'm alienating myself from some of you because of my strong view on this. I'll even leave the site if needed. But this is part of my identity as a person and as a responsible grower. I hope I have not offended.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | when i went to the farmers market, they were selling cherries, they were very expensive. they werent giving them away, for free. these people have other jobs too, besides being organic cherry farmers. my parents harvest products from bees, honey, wax, etc. they sell this stuff. my parents are bee farmers/keepers. now, i might get some free stuff, like i might get some samples of what my mom makes out of the stuff. but they aren't giving it away for free. i know there is this whole mentality that mj should be free. this came from decades ago. its so 1960's. free love. free weed. (and some free STD) it takes time and money to produce. i dont care how ghetto you can grow it, it still costs money. i do have people that are too sick to buy it from the clinic, who might be terminal. these are the people that should get it for free. there is a difference in my thought process because i am a medical mj grower. i would supply the clinic. it is very important that it is a clean, pesticide free, safe, product. so i have to work very hard to make sure that i am keeping the product to medical grade. it is very different then street grade, outdoor grade, etc. i have fought very hard for med mj, not because i want to make a profit, but because in the US terminally ill and chronically ill patients suffer more then most countries. the clinic makes more money then myself, who is listed as a farmer. just like farmers markets. you see, i am a "farmer". i sell an agricultural product. i pay taxes on it. alcohol is not free. you might buy your friend a drink. but there are no fountains in town with beer coming out of them, or whiskey. hell, its hard to get a drink from a water fountain around here these days. everything has a price on it. i dont agree with the 400 per oz price either, but i dont live in the 400 oz zone. i love that cannadian swhag comment, did someone say "eh, you wanna buy some weed?" lol. i am the only one that supplies GDP to my clinic. they know me for this. the patients will not get that strain, unless i bring it in. the clones came from the clinic's owner. its not the only strain ive known to grow, its just what i choose to grow now. i do share with friends, and if someone is really sick, they sometimes ask for my fluff bud, or shake, to make edible consumables with. which i happily give away. i even bubblehash it for them, if they want. one time at Christmas, i made everyone some cookies with fresh cookie dough, so i just made cookie patties for everyone, and we froze it, and my wife complained that it stunk up the freezer. but everyone had a merry Christmas. but, it cant all be free. i know you people say free. its not. you might give it to your friends for free, and they sell it for whatever. i dont give anything away, that can get sold on the street. even the stuff for edibles, i make sure that stuff is just used properly.

Cultivating and maintaining a good size grow for profit is definitely not a lazy mans game or dishonest as you put it. Just illegal by a society that is confused of its benefits. Its another commodity for the consumer just like any other vegetable/fruit etc. It takes a lot of work, and the "farmer" is always running the risk of loosing his/her entire crop to mold/pests or the likes, just like the risks a corn farmer has. Exploitation of prices goes by demand, quality and topographical zone, just like all the products you buy that are manufactured overseas for a dollar and are sold in US for 1000 times that. Is not exploitation its a choice my friend, is the American way. Lets not forget that at least 90% of mj users are recreational smokers that do not have any medical needs. Have you ever thought that even if mj becomes legal for medical purposes, it will still be illegal for people like me, the recreational smoker that has no medical problems, that just wants to be stone. If I want to smoke I guess, I'll have to pay the price that is been asked by the farmers salesman, but I do have the choice to look for a cheaper price else where, or not smoke at all. There are watches that cost $10 at wal mart but if you wish to have a quality watch it might cost you more than $20.000 to own a Rolex. A choice my friend, not exploitation of people in need.. ![]()

The car salesman that took the trade in on my beautiful Sienna van I am sure will make at least 3K on that van, due to the fancy math that all car salesman do. While of course, he was telling me how he was really taking such a beating; I pictured the children in the photos on his desk in second hand clothes. How about that? Is that an honest job? Let's face it, like Lou said, raping the customer whenever it's possible is the American Way. What was the name of that company that the Armed Forces paid to provide security in a war zone??? Oh yeah, Blackwater. I'm reading that they're preparing to return to Iraq with their vigilante rules of engagement and modus operandi of anything goes, cause we have bigger guns and no culpabiity. All at a bargain price of billions. Tradition man, tradition! Yeah... honest job... ![]() ![]() regards, Pops

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I started growing because anything with a name around here is like $125 a cutie and $400 per oz. I tried to cut out the middle man but, dude wasn't having it! $25 a gram! Period! Asshole! He must know the grower 'cause these guys don't have cash to buy more than a couple of ozs. They are low-budget dealers! Nor do they have the customer base in my 'hood to support those prices! The other option is to find a guy with inconsistent mids! (At best). They can charge what they like...I ain't buying it!
