![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Imo If anything goes it will be AN. They may still be in canada, but I dont see them lasting in the US if this is true. They admit 100 percent that their products are designed to grow marijuana. Thats just stupid imo. They use to run a medical forum...Another dumb idea. ![]() If AN put as half their money TOWARDS LEGALIZTATION instead of BOTTLE ADVERTISEMENT DESIGNS, they would get my respect. To me, AN is just trying to get rich off cannabis growers, while giving us nothing in return. As for carbon filters. They are/can be used on all plants. Just because people grow flowers or other plants that smell in there homes doesnt mean they want to smell it 24/7. I sure wouldnt want my basement smelling like tomatoes for months. Dea stops raiding...Of course they need something else to do. Think they would try to stop drugs...Not plants...Guess they just cant move on. Too afraid they will get hurt? Dealing with real criminals. lol

Advanced Nutrients Flies Giant Aerial Marijuana Bud Banner for Hydroponics Freedom at 2009 Seattle Hempfest SEATTLE, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattle Hempfest has always been a boldly honest marijuana-friendly event. During Hempfest 1992, a Hempfest organizer brought two budding marijuana plants for display on the Hempfest stage. This year, it's the 2009 Hempfest, and the Advanced Nutrients hydroponics company is bringing a giant marijuana bud banner to the skies above Seattle. The bud-laden banner half the size of a football field, which asks the question "Want Big, Sugary Buds?" is on a worldwide tour because it symbolizes a celebration of freedom for plant lovers and hydroponics gardeners. According to Advanced Nutrients co-founder Michael Straumietis, the Seattle Hempfest has faced the "same kinds of societal prejudice and hypocrisy that's plaguing the hydroponics industry now." "In its nearly 20-year history, Hempfest has endured many senseless hardships for telling the simple truth about plants," Straumietis explains. "The same thing has happened to Advanced Nutrients because we tell the truth about hydroponics gardening and medical marijuana." The inside story is that Americans spend hundreds of millions of dollars per year on hydroponic equipment and supplies. Most of those materials are used to grow medical marijuana, but Straumietis's company has long been the only hydroponics business that's up front with free flowing truthful information helping the medical marijuana community. "Until we came on the scene, nobody challenged the hypocritical cadre of hydroponics industry good old boys who make tons of money off medical marijuana growers and patients while denying and rationing the flow of growing information, prohibiting open commerce, and bullying anyone who talks openly about hydroponics marijuana," Straumietis says. What's more, Straumietis accuses five companies in particular (Hydrofarm, Sunlight Supply, General Hydroponics, Botanicare and Technaflora) of attempting the systematic takeover of the hydroponics market, stores, media and customers. "Let's face it, medical marijuana is legal in 13 states, yet these giant hydroponics manufacturing companies and distributors are engaged in the 'hydroponic hijacking' of our community," Straumietis charges. They won't let customers or hydroponics stores discuss medical marijuana, if they do a store owner is immediately cutoff and of course put out of business, which in turn is crippling our community. "The good old boys strong-arm tactics are harming growers, patients and hydroponics retailers, but Advanced Nutrients helps out with our Cannabis Care program that assists needy, sick and dying people to grow the best medicine," Straumietis argues. "The good old boys have used every dirty trick in the book to vainly try to shut us down. They've used, bully intimidation, financial muscle, banned us from all hydroponics events, media publications and continually use fear campaigns to attack our company." And that's why Straumietis created his airborne bud banner that's half the size of a football field. The aerial sensation made its eye-popping debut over the Maximum Yield Indoor Gardening Expo in San Francisco on July 26th, a trade show that Advanced Nutrients was not allowed to exhibit in. After Hempfest, the banner will fly over many other famous events worldwide. "Our bud banner is the perfect backdrop for Hempfest, which has always been about the truth," Straumietis says. "I issued a million dollar nutrient challenge for any of the good old boys companies to have a grow contest with me and see whose nutrients grow the biggest, most potent buds. They're all too scared to accept my challenge. They just sit there like fat cats, taking in the dough but patients, medical dispensaries, hydroponics retailers and growers are seeing through their lies. Obviously medical patients, growers and hydroponic store owners want access to truthful, quality information without interference from the special interests of the good ol' boys companies selling to our community. And up in the air above Hempfest, they'll see quite clearly that Advanced Nutrients is the only hydroponics nutrient company with the guts to stand with them for plant freedom." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the DEA is pissed at California, and now Obama, for saying stay out of the MJ dispensaries, and this is an easy way to backlash that ruling...."don't want me to bust the ILLEGAL DRUG OPERATION? I don't CARE what the state says, it is ILLEGAL according to FEDERAL law and I am the Federal DEA!! O.K., fine, I'll just bust the stores!" Also maybe AN pissed em off personally, I dunno. I think it'll die down in a bit. I also think it's absolute BULLSHIT.......what if I built a carbon filter, and sold it on ebay the way everyone and his sister seem to do these days, and a guy in California buys it? Will I be the next Tommy Chong? Will the DEA close down the stores on Ebay selling LED's cos they are used for "stealth grows"? I also think Wal-mart needs to stop selling diaper genies with filters. They are certainly used to grow MJ. Think of all the compost!! ![]() EDIT = Burndt, you are our inside man on wal-mart, ok? Try to get them to stock as many stealthy products as they can! I want loose carbon and HPS and LED bulbs at Wal-Mart soon! Fuckers. if it aint illegal to sell, I reserve the right to make a damn profit on it. Let the stores be.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Not to be a killjoy here, but if we stop and think rationally for a moment it's not that hard to see what's going on. First up, we've only got the word of a few people this is even happening. Could be nothing more than someone with a bone to pick with AN and there's certainly no shortage of people (or companies) in that category. Even if it is true it's wild speculation to blame it all on AN. There's plenty of socio-political triggers to something like this. The grindingly inevitable progression of public opinion on legalization has no doubt got a lot of DEA top brass worried about how big their budget would be if that went through. Good chance this is just a "getting while the getting is good" kind of thing. They see the writing on the wall, they know they won't be busting people for MJ for too much longer, so they're doing what they can while they can. Or, it could all just be Chicken Little B.S. and the whole thing is made up. For the record, stoney-trees, it's very unlikely that Advanced Nutrients spends much money at all on the label designs, and it's a one-time expense. Just take a look at Facebook, Myspace, or DA sometime and see how many people fancy themselves big-league artists who just haven't been discovered yet. How many people good enough to do the art we see on nute bottles are there? Thousands? Millions? Wave a couple hundred bucks around and how many jump at the chance to do your design? More than a few. Trust me, there's no way a company like AN spent much on their labels. You could probably buy a decent new sedan for what it'd cost to get every label they have done. Hell, when I need graphic design work done I usually find a way to get it done for free. Someone new is always trying to pad their portfolio.

They do NOTHING to help medical patients in anyway. But they are so geared towards marijuana... If they want to be a special company, help us out. Not take our money. I emailed AN asking for a sample of one of their nutrient lines. I said something small like 8 ounce bottles would be nice. They told me sorry, couldnt help. Emailed GH and said the same thing. Im getting 7 or 8 1 liter bottles. Who apreciates the customers more? The only thing they ever did for medical users was provide an online forum. Wich in the end, just atracted more customers. Im just sick and tired of AN blabing about marijuana, but doing nothing for the growers or patients. Not saying their products suck...As the saying goes. Dont talk about it....Be about it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Am I being cynical or is AN's plan to draw heat so that smaller companies fold up under the pressure, thus leaving only the big boys to play?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've watched a few of the AN guy's videos. I'm not sure HE knows what he means, much less anyone else. I do think, however, that he is in to slick marketing to justify higher profits. I don't think AN is so far above the rest that it's worth paying so much more. My fav is when he "challenges" other companies to a MJ grow. In "bulgaria or somewhere". Knowing full well no-one is going to go do that, too much time/money/risk of getting busted. Yet he still tries to make AN out as a "little guy" being pushed around by "the big boys". All you have to do, in almost any market, is sell a good product at a decent price. Do that, and you should outlast all the ups and downs.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The thing is, Mike from AN is a great spin doctor. He's been able to take somewhat related things and weave them into this huge conspiracy theory that makes AN look like freedom fighters. Claiming that the other successful hydro supply companies are like some shadow government bent on world hydro domination for profit doesn't need to be true to benefit him. So what if companies like GH want to remain within the letter of the law when it comes to their advertising and distributor relationships? All these products have legitimate non-cannabis applications, ever think they want to keep themselves open to a larger customer base? It's all smoke and mirrors coming from AN. I'm not saying their stuff doesn't do everythign they claim, they didn't get where they are by spin alone, obviously. I'm just saying that it's easy to connect the dots and make it sound how you want when nobody you're accusing is going to bother to refute you since they're perfectly happy with a legitimate face to their business.
