Good counterpoint to the article about the mom and BF that forced their 2 yr old to smoke since " it makes them sleep".

One article about an abusive woman who only wants her kid to leave her alone and go to sleep, an apparently normal 2-yr old who only wants to be held and have a little attention. Kind of like giving them adult cough syrup because the 25% alcohol makes them sleep.

One about a lady who doesn't do it to get the kid high, but to combat some severe symptoms of a severe disease, acting under a doctors' auspices. Kind of like any other medication, except I imagine their are tons of variables with strains, potency of that particular plant, etc., and should be dealt with on a strictly monitored basis, which she appears to be doing.

Yep...while we spout all the platitudes (some more true than others) about freedom, etc. in this country, the fact is we are in many respects a granite-rocked puritanical culture in fundamental ways. While I wouldn't give whiskey to a two-year old to get him blasted, I betcha there were plenty of two year olds who were given small tastes of spirits for medicinal purposes through the years. Even rubbing a bit of whiskey over teething gums. I am not lauding or condemning...just saying that our attitudes are deeply pre-conditioned by our culture. Obviously, the same with ganja. I remember looking at a Chinese herbal from about twenty years ago. There were myriad pages devoted to the herbal uses for cannabis. I'm sure plenty of two year olds in China were treated with it over the course of the 5000 year history of Chinese medicine.

Sure did. My dad put a bit of Crown Royal in my milk sometimes to get me to sleep. Yet I bet he'd have a heart attack if he found out I toke, much less intent to grow.

I totally support this, so long as the minor is under supervision of a doctor. Since he is... way to go mom for doing something proactive and healthy for your kid!

Hey Tommy,

I downloaded The Union a couple of months back. Great documentary, imo. The grow op in the buried railroad cars blew me away. A much better balanced report than the recent USA made Marijuana Inc, imo. More importantly, I thought "The Union" approached the topic from a more interesting perspective. Rather than focusing on crime and money, it asked some relevant questions about why we are in the current situation, what are the truths and fictions surrounding the industry, and what sort of public policy should we be forming for the future.

And made it Canada too, eh?

Peace.

P.S. I love that guitar, Tommy.
