Police Bust Indoor Marijuana-Growing Operation
Police Raid Three Residences In Three Jurisdictions

SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Police in Montgomery County, Md., say they have shut down an extensive indoor marijuana-growing operation that spanned three separate jurisdictions.
On Jan. 13, Montgomery County police said investigators served search warrants in Silver Spring, Md., Hyattsville, Md., and the District with the help of Maryland State Police, Prince George's County police, and the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said an entire three-story house was devoted entirely to the growing and manufacturing of marijuana in the 10000 block of Gardner Avenue, in the Forest Glen section of Silver Spring.
Officials said police seized 407 marijuana plants, 25 pounds of marijuana leaves used to make hash oil, and about one quart of hash oil along with lights and hydroponic growing equipment from the Silver Spring house.
One pound of marijuana was seized from a house in the 3300 block of Cool Spring Road in Hyattsville, where a garage was converted to an indoor marijuana-growing facility.
And police said $85,000 and one pound of pot was recovered from a home in the 3900 block of Cathedral Avenue in the District.
Police said about $30,000 worth of growing equipment was found inside the two Maryland locations.
Charles Medard Duquette, 49, who lived at the Cathedral Avenue address in the District turned himself in to police Thursday afternoon, officers said, and is facing a number of drug-related charges.

Theres one thing that disturbs me although... If you could afford 30 grand in equipment and the time to maintain 407 plants, why the hell couldn't ya move to where it would be legal to do so? Oh man... I wonder how they kept the electric bills inconspicous...
