Katfish is beginning to sprout.

For people who can't find or use the pyrex bake tubes, you might try looking up a plastics distributer in your area (Yellow Pages / P -Plastics) and see if they carry polycarbonate tubing. It's strong, heat-resistant, and self-extinguishing. It'd make a nice substitute for the pyrex.

DrugsAreBad is beginning to sprout.
I know this thread is old, but...

I jsut saw it today. I'm thinking about building one of these myself. Now... if I were using a cool tube on a 400w HPS, I would be able to simply have an enclosed grow space with enough ventilation to keep air flowing, and the heat from the light would not be a problem? Also... how exactly would the light be set up in a cabinet? Would I simply put the fan in one side of the cabinet, half in the cabinet half out so it rested on the wood, the resizer things, then the light, then metal or plastic or whatever tubing fit out the other side of the cabinet? (Diagram)

Exclamation DA.Bad

By your diagram,it's obvious that you understand the concept.I myself might like to try a cool tube, but before I go sticking one over the top of 5 chroming at the mouth females,2 feet away from their beautiful HEADS,I'm gonna find out from someone if theirs is still working.I think tempered glass might work...Where do you find 4" pyrex tubes?b.s.

ps..you don't want to put an exaust fan @ the bottom of your enclosure,it will only suck the cool air out,and pull heat downward against the nature of the force.
