![]() | im really curious about these and may go get some. Tried asking about them in another forum and got blown off. Seems to me we had 150w compact flos. Im not sure how to measure reds and blues however. How are your plants doing?? (btw i can only find a 70w HUGE hps that prob wont fit in my space so why waste my money) BTW, another idea instead of aluminum foil is go to wally world's camping sectiona nd you can get one of those emergency blankets for like 1.50$!!! they are like 8 feet by 6feet, roughly.

![]() | yeah, the mega seems to have the best lumen output for normal sockets.they also have a line of outdoors.most are ornamental stuff and gets alittle pricey, but have these floods.the best being a 65w 6825 lumens,$34.now the 70w hps kicks out 6300 lumens.but on this spectrum thing i just dont know.my first plant to pop up (1/8/01) is now 2 1/2" tall and is pushing its 4th set of true leafs.i have 2 circular(curlys) 22w 1300 lumen on the sides(stationary) & 1 30w 2400 lumen curly on top(adustable) about 2" from the crown in alittle over 2 sqr ft.the beauty of these lights to me is we can keep adding (if one doesnt have the bucks) until ya got a decent setup.i wish someone in the know would help us with the spectrum thing though.

Very nice graph! So it looks like the outdoor lights may not be as good, spectrum wise? Or not... hehe Also..I've finished my cardboard ballast Did the wiring last night. It holds six of the screw in compact flourescentsI just picked up some lights at random places...wanted to try different brands. So right now I've got two 25 watt 1600 lumens(equal to 100 watt incandescent), two 15 watt 900 lumens(equal to 60 watt inc) and I am going to pick up two megalights (2700 lumens) to put in there as well... so the whole thing will pump out about... 10,000 lumens. Add that to the 4,000 lumens I got in there currently, and thats not bad...I think I may add another two megalights eventually...get me almost up to the 20,000 range...for my small 3 sqr foot area, that'll be kickin ![]() Now to get a good digital pic of all these lights on my cardboard thingy ![]()

![]() | flood=65w,6825 lumen,5000k,84cri. circular=22w,1300 lumen,2700k,84cri...30w,2400 lumen,2700k ,84cri. mega-lite=45w,3100 lumen,2800k,84cri. and a new one.a torchiere lamp (i think here we're only interested in the replacement bulb=model no.2630B)=??w,4050 lumen etc. will look around & prx and all that....so the flood is blue just under hid in spectrum(XLNt veggie light)the rest reddish(good for whole grow especially budding stage.correct if im wrong...

It would work, but you'd be pushin it. It would be better to have more...the closer you can get to 7,000 lumens per square foot the better...you'd have like what...6 square feet with a 1.5 x 4 foot floor space? Thats about 2,000 lumens per square foot...thats about the minimum to have a crop worth growing... You may want to cram a couple more in there...maybe some regular 4 or 2 foot flourescent tube lights...ones with a bluer spectrum to accompany the redder one's from the Megalight. But dont' take my word for it...I'm just guessing here ![]()
