![]() | Wow, I'm almost a professional photographer now. Maybe I'll grow some buds worthy of framing with this sucker. Here's another pic. Notice that I have a bit of foil tape on the left hand side, even though it is not connected to a duct yet (only one fan attached right now... blowing hot air out, so it pulls in the air from my grow room into the glass cylinder. I put the foil tape there for two reasons... I expect to hook up more ducting for another fan (a bathroom blower/fan from home depot for $40) and also because I used some wire that comes on a roll to wrap around the lamp on each side. I tightened the wire down around the bottoms of two little "S" hooks. I tried to make these visable in some of the pics. I use the S hooks to hang on the chain that hangs from some screw in hooks. It's easy to raise or lower. My next step will be to make a reflector from the sheet metal at home depot. I think there is a thread on this. Then I'll hang the reflector from the ceiling, and the kooltube from the reflector. CBW ![]()

![]() | Notice in the previous pic that the wires from the socket are fed up between the glass and ducting. With enough foil tape, the seal is pretty good. Another method, as I already posted, is to drill a hole in the metal tube you are attaching... but then you'd need to seal that up with something too. Here is a pic from the open end of the tube. You can't see much except for the bulb... but I figured I'd post it just in case you can glean something from it. CBW ![]()

Hey guys! Thanks for this great thread! I've been having problems with heat in my grow space since I started growing with 400Ws. I wanted to add more power but all I had for ventillation was a small fan in the cieling that vented straight into the attic. Heat in the summer took a toll. After reading this discussion, I bought a 1000W complete system w/ cool tube from growsystems.com. I installed a 152cfm (very quiet) inline fan at the ceiling. It draws air from the air conditioned room outside and across the bulb, exhausting into the attic. My grow room is probably 20 degrees cooler now and I can hold my hand 2" from the light with no discomfort! I just started my new grow last week and I can't wait to see the difference between the 400 "hot" grow and this 1000w "cool" grow. Thanks again guys for all the great information Yaada | ||

I am growing in a closet/growroom I specially constructed. On my original Sunlight hood I cut out 2 4" holes for 4" air fittings and pop rivited them on using some silicone sealer between the flanges and hood. I cut a 4" hole in the left wall and installed a Fantech inline centrifical fan (W/dimmer switch to allow variations in fan speed) with 4" flex piping. On the outlet side I used the flex piping to run up near the cieling and thru the wall to my bathroom. In the bathroom I installed a ventilation cover to allow the air to go into the bathroom, this air recirculates from the bathroom back into the grow room thru the utility room. (free heat in the bathroom) I only grow from October-March as we go camping and hiking in the other months. I installed this mainly so I could use CO2. I have an ehaust fan set on a thermostat that comes on at 85 deg.f and off at 80, this is plugged into the CO2 controller. I have devised a On Delay Relay in this circuit to delay the start of the exhaust fan 1-10 minutes after the CO2 charges, During flowering the Air Tiger Ozone generator also comes on with the exhaust fan to eliminate odor. The single strength glass on the hood absorbs very little light, I used a light meter that measures in candle/power and I can not see any difference with or without the glass, I use duct tape to seal the glass in the hood. The ballast is outside the room to cut down on the heat. The humidity is at about 45% at the start (Hydro setup) I cover the pots with white plastic to reflect light and to cut down on humidity. During flowering the humidity goes way up, I have ordered a Dehumid Dehumidifier(40Watts) to replace the exhaust fan and am patiently waiting for it to arrive. This should fix the high humidity problem. Stop Supporting Terrorists----Grow yer Own

![]() | The Fantech fan is very quiet....But....the noise at the intake is more than I would like it to be....sounds about the same as a furnace duct blowing hot air. Hope this is what you wanted to know.... Don't Support Terrorism...Grow Yer Own
