| i found a spot to get glass tubes www.c3dglass.com/productpage.htm also the loss of light is negligible, less than 5%, and the uv is already filtered out bythe glass envelope of the bulb. these things really look like the way to go... | ||

![]() ![]() | Forget the white pant man, use Mylar im sure your local hyrdo shop would have a roll or two but if u cant find that just use some emergency camping blankets, they are hella cheap and only costed me about 3 bucks each Australian this are HUGE . about 2 metres squared so for a grow box or anything they are quite adiquate. as for the cool tube, you would only be waisting light in my opinion if you still use a hood, you would be much better just gettign a air cooled hood.

![]() | The kool tube that I set up allows me to keep my 400 watt HPS 4 inches away from the cola, I think that the intesity of the light at that distance is much greater than what tou would have with an air cooled hood. IMO losing a little light from the glass is well worth it if you can keep it that close. I think that its worth the trouble especially in a small grow space ![]()

![]() | I was thumbing through a magazine at the hydro store and saw this great device that looked perfect for what your are talking about. It was clear plastic tubes coiled around your bulb which circulated water through it. But the water never actually touched the bulb you see? I can't remember the name of this product. If you are interested in it go to your local hydro store and ask about it.
