Question for Jose.

As Xzoomd pointed out, you described this as a veg experiment. While that in of itself is highly valuable info, I would petition you to carry out the recordings through harvest (I assume both test subject groups will be flowered under a HPS). This is the true worth of your experiment. How can one manipulate and use light to maximize yeild?

Peace.

well. sledge,,,i did give that some thought, too.

but the problem would be starting off under equal conditions, ie the seperation of veg - flower phases. if i were to carry on through flowering, one group may already have an advantage over the other. we need a decent contol there.

so i was thinking maybe another experiment - only for flowering - same type of setup... but the population would have had the exact same treatment and enviornmental conditions just prior to beginning the project. in other words, their vegging phase wouldn't have any variables that could carry over and affect the flowering experiment.

plus, i want to do another experiment - but only with clones. i intend to prove to all the naysayers clones are not the perfect specimens they think they are, and show the growth variabilities that occur.

so the question is...which experiment first

i would like to see you do the experiment with the clones...and see if they have a growth variables that are similar to seedlings or see the variability within the clone group compared to variability within the seedling group.

H_B,
yes, that's exactly it.
have you seen the new thread (i think it's brindie's) on the "weird clones"? that's the sort of stuff i'm talking about, too.
all i know is, my clones haven't been clones...

i havent seen the new thread yet but i will have to go find it. i have only fooled with clones a little and have usually ended up giving them to people that needed them at the time and havent grown them out.

hmmm...interesting since in theory the clones should grow more uniformally than seedlings

Just wanted to kudo on the experiment. It is rare in science that we get to literally smoke our test subjects. hehe

Lighting Experiment Update: Week 4
permalink

ok, got the little ones transplanted to their final 5 gallon pots this week. they did ok, all seem happy

plus gave them their first fertilizer, at 1/2 strength. miracle-gro 15-30-15. i know it's not the best, but it works. all got watered with about a gallon each.

plus there were some white flies around, i noticed them when watering. anybody know any good, organic way to ged rid of these guys? i sprayed the grow room down with baygon...

i suppose the transplant shock slowed down the growth rates this week. we'll see if it picks up again in the coming week, i think the fertilizer will kick in and give them a boost.

here's the data this week:

the ones on the left are under the mh. also forgot to mention that i removed the board that seperates them to make the photo a little clearer.

really not that much of a difference, is there?

i sure miss growing under the Sun...
