![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, it is a shame this came to an end but what was interesting was that at wk 6 the HPS was slowly over taking the MH, I'd like to see if the chart continued that way ![]() I'll interject though that I did see a similiar experiment ... What the guy did was top a clone and grow both sides under a different light, one side HPS and the other MH. So the plant got all the same other variables, temp, nutes, pH, etc but got diff spectrums for the growth. It was complete with picts and all the other detials of the grow. needless to say, the HPS won hands down. This was an old old thread that I read years ago so I cant provide a reference sorry ![]() It was a great read though and a nice comparision experiment.

![]() | I think one of the decidingly biased factors you forget is that a similarly wattaged HPS bulb is much brighter than a similarly wattaged MH bulb. Sodium is a more efficient source of light. Now that may be a boon, but the plants need for a balanced spectrum is a sepereate issue. Just some food for thought... | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I did forget to mention that he used a 250w MH on one side and 175w HPS on the other to adjust for the diff output level of the bulbs ![]()

![]() | Are you talking about the Agro-Son light or the Hortilux bulb, because I think there is a significant difference... I'd be interested to know if you can run the Agro-Son bulb on regular 400w ballasts... since it's a 430w light. Like S51 is a standard for 400w HPS, and http://members.fortunecity.com/paulerik/id33.htm here it has son-agro labeled as a different ballast all together, so I'm wondering if the son-agro would be hurt by running on a regular Super CWA HPS ballast?
