http://www.businesslights.com/?page=...8e4ce87119831& High Pressure Sodium Lamp Specifications Lamp Wattage 400 Bulb Type/Finish T15/Clear Base E39 Mogul Operating Position Universal Fixture Rating Open & Enclosed Correlated Color Temperature(K) 2100° Color Rendering (CRI) 21 ANSI Spec (Ballast) S51 Initial Lumens 45,000 Lumens Per Watt 125 Mean Lumens 45,000 Ave. Rated Life (hrs @ 10hr/start) 24,000 $13.90 on this website. Is this ideal lighting for a flowering plant? If not, what's the type of light for the $ when flowering? Also, if you take three 200W bulbs and place them side by side, does this do any better then two 300W bulbs (if you're growing just one plant and don't need the light to span out over a wide area). dankmann

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dank, thats just the price for the bulb.. and doesnt include the ballast, igniter, and all that other shiit. The bulbs are fairly inexpensive when compared to the price of the actual lamp. and i would say you are probably better off going with 2x300w instead of 3x200w.. because the 300w put out more lumens/w than the 200w.. or somethin like that.. but the 300w will be more energy efficient and probably not give off as much heat. peace

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | dankmann, The site that you mentioned does have good prices on ballast/socket/lamp kits ($74.90) Generally speaking, larger lamps are better. If your grow space is long and skinny however you may get better results with 2 or 3 smaller lamps. The tradeoff is better efficiency with larger lamps VS even light distribution and the ability to get the lamps closer to your plants. There are some circumstances in which 2 400W lamps or 4 250W lamps might outperform a single 1000W lamp. The 1KW lamp often works best with some sort of light mover whereas the 400's and 250's can be easily used in a fixed position. If I had unlimited funds I would go for a 1KW lamp on a light mover. That would allow you to get much closer to the plant tops and give you nice even coverage. Everythings in life is a trade off. Peace, Harrad.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | unlimited funding you say??? i think i'd get 5x 1kw HPS and 5x 1kw MH all watercooled, some nice G13 seeds, maybe some white widow.. and then go out and find myself a big bag of zoomers.. then i'd make myself a really tight aeroponic setup.. and grow some really killer buds! peace hehe
