what if you just dont plug one cord in? does the thing still work? not really sure how they work? is it one ballast for two lights or does it really contain two ballasts in one box?

hehe you could run 1000 lights during veg if you have enough space and the proper equipment.

check out how some people setup there grows for 1200w and read bout that and you should be fine.

good luck

Well I don't know how hands on you are or experienced with ballasts but if it has one power cord and 2 lamp outputs then you could open it up and just remove the Common and 120v for just one of the ballasts. I actually just did this to my dual 400 I made a wile back to use only 1 400 in my veg room. If you remove both power input wires from the incomming power you can leave the lamp still wired up because the 2ed ballast wont be turning on and not trying to start a bulb.
