| i've been reading some of these posts, and you guys are like oh yeah, mine are on 12/12 and all that, then I read grow guides that are like keep lights on 24 at first, and then some are like 16/8 or whatever (there really is a lot of inconsistency on the internet as to how to grow). So what should I do with my lights? I had them on 24, and "tinytoker" said that was what killed one of my plants. They are about a week and a half old, should I still keep them at 24 hours of light? | ||

| McM, Plants are living entities and should be given a bit of a break. 18 on and 6 off is a good plot when they are little babies. If they need to veg quickly try 24 on but be aware that problems can occur like this. The dark period allows consolidation of nutrient uptake. They always seem to do better given a little rest in my experience. Internode | ||

![]() | Its whatever you prefer> I myself and many other growers I know of go with light on 24/7 for veg period, and 12/12 for flowering.I have been using this light cycle for about and year and others I know been using for many years. All your doing to your your plants is kinda tricking them into thinking its just one long day.I have had no problems with it at all.I'm not posting this to confuse you just wanna give you some options, you have many choose well ![]()

| ok then here is another question- is it okay for the plant to be switched, repeatedly, from closet-light to outside light? I have been blessed with an oppurtunity to have my plants come out of the closet (lets hope they're lesbains hehe) and put them in sunlight, like on a window sill. Would this be bad for them, like if I had them there during the day and under flours at nigth? oh yeah thanks for responding | ||

That's not true. There are many opinions as the "Best way to grow Weed." It all comes down to what's right for you. Putting on the lights for 24-7 makes the young plant work hard. If you can keep up with watering demands and your soil is very light, the plants grow really fast. However there is a limit to the plants response. How long will you run 24-7? All plants need rest. I might run 24-7 for 10 days at most. Leaving the lights on 24-7 will not kill a plant. Inadequate care and inexperience killed the plant. Weed is just a plant. There is no mysterious magical way to Marijuana Nirvana. Anyone with a backyard can grow weed. If you live in the Northeast you should have seedlings by now. If you want to grow your own weed this summer you best get yer seeds in pots. We have one more snow up here boys then it's time to plant outdoors!

| So you're saying that many different opinions is not the same thing as inconsistency? Well, last time I checked, when things are Not The Same, they tend to be Different (read-inconsistent), am I correct in that? And I'm sorry, there is a lot of this on the internet. "use jiffy cubes, use bleach on the towels, don't even use towels, don't use bleach, jiffy cubes kill plants" and so on. Yes, inadequate care and inexperience did kill my plants (two of them now). I guess that us here in the midwest aren't born natural weed growers. | ||

| I here you man... Speaking of which, i used to smoke up with a dude w/ a last name of mcmannis? I live in the midwest too... N e ways, that's whats so damn good about sites like this one... I personally keep my plants on a 24 hr peroid also with no probs. And i DO put them out into the sun when i can, and i'd swear it really does help a lot. Don't know, cause the plants can't come out and say so, but it just seems they do better when they get the sunlight... TwIg | ||
