| I purchased a Lights of America brand 250 watt HPS Security light from the Home Depot. I might have made 2 mistakes as a first time grower. The light has to be installed into a junction box and not a plugin outlet like I wanted. Possibly my second mistake is that the light says 250W output yet uses only 50 watts and only has 4,000 lumens. I only plan to grow 5 or 6 of the healthiest of my 12 seedlings for my own smoke in a standard closet until large enough to take outside for the flowering. Can anybody help me? Am I going to mess this all up? | ||

| Welcome to HempCultivation.com moondoganja! Are you sure that it's an HPS for real? It's just that I've never heard of an HPS light being advertised with those features. 4,000 lumens just isn't going to cut it. A real 250 would be better.Peace, Observer [This message has been edited by Observer (edited March 29, 2000).] | ||

| The light is definitely HPS. It cost $47 which I thought was a bit low at the time, but it was the only HPS of MH light they had. I can return it, no problem. My real concern is finding a decent one without giving info over internet like credit card and name. Money is not too much of a concern for me. What info is there on purchasing these lights and the security in doing so? Can store clerks narc on buyers or is that just paranoia? | ||

| I would suggest ordering an idustrial light from a company like Granger, or an industrial/commercial supplier like that. They are used to light hangars and warehouses. This way, they won't suspect you of growing anything with the light. Peace, Observer [This message has been edited by Observer (edited March 30, 2000).] | ||

| another thing you can do is buy grow lights from people that grow. They won't care if you grow or not and buying a lamp from someone else who grows is much more safer. Email me if you have any quesitons sbout where to find hps lamps for really cheap (mihir6716@aol.com) peace, Squanto | ||
