I just got a 70 watt hps for my second go at it I'm only gonna grow two plants and I was just wondering if anybody has produced good buds with a 70 watt. I read on here that it should be about 16" from the tops but I think that much less would probably work because it doesn't seem hot at all. I was also wondering if anybody has had any success with sexing b4 6 weeks bithout hermies. Thanks in advance for any input...

Yea, it should be more like 8" inches. 16" would be about right for 1000 watt lamps. If your hand stays comfortable at the level of the plant tops, then it's not too close.

Yeah that's what I figured, I moved it down to like 10 " today and it was just barely warm at the tops... thanks for the info

im currently using a 70 watt hps under one plant its just about ready to harvest in a couple days
i keep it about 4 inches away with no problems
just keep a fan blowing on it
i dont know about 2 plants but my one plant has about twice as much bud as i expected at the start!
cant wait to get my 400 watt hps..
