Will the difference affect the taste or growth?

I'm a just startin' to grow a little somethin' and I had heard a few thing bout the sun light affects differing from the lamps. Is there any?

When is it the best time to harvest. Cause I heard the longer the wait, the better.

Just stick to one or the other. Going back and forth really screws them up. I like HPS. The spectrum of the ligh works best for seedlings and for flowers. It's the flowers we want. MH is bright and exspensive. If you use flours you need a heat mat. Flours are ok if you heat with a mat!

check out the "economy hps" on ebay, says they are 70-100 bucks for a 400w hps with the ballast. Only catch is the ballast is 8 yrs old, but they come with a new bulb. Anyone know the lifetime of those ballasts, do you guys think these are a good deal or what?
