So here is my next problem. I've been reading and reading about lighting, and what I hear for florwering is HPS HPS HPS. I just spent some time/$ on building a semi effective cool tube for my 200w 2700k CFL. I have at my disposal a sunsytems HPS 150w, and plexi is cheap. Should I take some time/$ and build myself a nice cooltube for that HPS, or stick with my 200w 2700k CFL? Thanks to everyone in advance, I really appriciate the info Ruben

 | Light from a CFL does not penetrate the canopy nearly as good as light from a HPS.

| can you just stick them both in there? I'd get them both ready. One can always be the back-up... and then you have a choice. [the HPS is slightly more light]

| Analog, thanks for the info. I didn't know that the CFL didn't have the penetration power of the HPS. Rock: I don't know yet. I haven't gotten my ventelation 100% worked out... Sorry for the delay there got distacted and went to HD to get someplexi. Will post pics as I build.

| Got the HPS setup with ventalation. However, I dont have enough room to fit both in there. Ill post some pics in the near future, I took them, just too tired to post more pics right at this minute. L8R Ruben

| the hps has a lot more usable light, much of the cfls spectrum is green.. so its probably 2x the light that the plant can use. that being said, fluos give nice potency, id use both lights if i could. | ||

Its done, and tested. Works like a champ, temps are still a lil high at 85F, but I think I can live with that. Heres a pic of it on. The PC fan is blowing air across the bulb, and there is a 4" 80CFM exhaust fan up there at the end of that ducting pulling air out. L8R Ruben

| You made the right decision.  Hps light really works well for growing cannabis. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with it
