I was in walmart last night. Go to the cfl isle and check it out. They will have something you can use. My walmart doesnt carry the 4 light adapter. They have a 1 and a 2 though.

Also they have foot long extension cords for like 99 cents. You could put an adapter at the end, and screw a bulb in Thats like 2 dollars for the cord and adapter. X however many lights you want to use. Pick up a pack of cfl's while your there. Less than 20 dollars.

I will not use an extension cord, specially when growing/powering 8 lights. Those things are such fire hazards lol...... I do have a bunch of surge protectors though.

that guy was right walmart $1.37 sockets and $1 extension cords they even have 40watt cfls for like $9 get 6 of each and a surge protector ur all set. Less than $80 for all those cfls but for like $70 you could get TWO 70w HPS from lowes....
just remember "You, can, do eeeeet!!!!"

oh yeah, remember that the HPS are High Intensity Discharge(HID) while the cfl's are NOT... This will effect yeild no matter how many cfl's are used.

Even when the lumens are high enuf for the grow, they will still be a lower quality lumen.

The distance away from the bulbs directly measures the lumens hitting the plants, with HIDs the distance can be much greater. meaning that ya if a 65 cfl makes 4000+ lumens and so does 50w hps, those lumens arent really the same. the hps 4000+ lumens will be more intense.

The distance away from the bulb that has usable lumens is going to be far greater with the HID 70w/50w hps than the 65w cfl.

Plus it's easier to cool one or two lights vs. 8 or 9... the cfl's still produce heat when in an arrray.

40 watts 9 bucks each.....? 5-6 23 watt bulbs for $5 lmao. Why pay way more then double the price for double the watts. It's cheaper to have more bulbs and buy more sockets then get less bulbs.

No, you get 2 power strips. 8 bulbs. 8 cords. 8 adapters Thats 20-30 bucks. Cheap as it gets.

a power strip can handle 8 cfls.
