I was looking at google shopping for CFL's since all I have now at home is 13 watt cfls... but a bunch of options come up and they are like, 13 watt cfls equivalent to 60 watt etc. What exactly does that mean? Equivalent how..? If I was growing 2 small LowRyder 2 plants in a 1.5x1.5x1.5 foot area with 2 light spots, what kind of bulbs would I need, cfl wise. I've read you can grow this strain very easilys with only CFLs and no HPS..... What kind of CFLs would be the best if I had 2 light spots?

![]() ![]() | When using cfl you go by actual watts, not what they are rated. 2 13 watt bulbs isnt going to flower a plant. It will, but not worth it imo. Your talking a few grams of airy buds every 3 months. Is it really worth the risk over less than an ounce?

The question I was asking it where can I find these 60 and 120 w cfls people are using? And yeah with the strain I'm doing I probably will get a half o to an o at the MOST, specially since I'm using 1 gallon pots.

QUOTE] Sorry, didnt see that in your first post...Come to think of it, still dont. But anyway, check lowes, homedepot, walmart...I know walmart carrys 150 watt equivilants. So I guess they would be around 40 watts? 26 watt cfl will give the best lumen to wattage ratio. Sort of like how 600's are with hps.

equivalent to incandescent bulbs they are saying....the 13 watt cfl puts out as much visible light [to a human eye] as a 60 watt incandescant light bulb I got my 100watt flouro in the security lights at Home Depot

When they talk - about "equivalents", pause to think about how and why that is so. Lights emit lumens. You can compare lumens independently of their source. You are welcome.

NO. It is much Better. Becuase the 60w incandescent light is useless for growing in terms of how much heat it emits and the useable light for growing MJ (nill).
