| A "regular" 150 watt HPS starts out at about 16,000 lumens (becomes less with age). I would recommend either using some flos or just using a 400 watt HPS instead of using a 150 watt HPS though. 150 watters don't push enough lumens for the price of the system and you'll probably want to upgrade by your next gow anyway. -PMX | ||

![]() | Go with a 400W HPS... perfect start system with room to grow. 150W is good for a growing area of about 2x2 sq. ft. 400W HPS is good for a size of about 4x4 sq. ft. a nice, sizeable garden. Here is a good chart to go by: Hope this helps, doob

| Hold on a sec...The 1,500 watt system over an 8X8 area would only be giving 23.5 watts per ft² on average. Aside from the plants getting only 23.5 watts per ft², you would need to either keep the bulb at an average level and maximize the usage of lumens or keep it higher so that lumen use was distributed more evenly among the plants, but then more of the overall lumen usage would be wasted because of the distance, which would only make the already low 23.5 watts per ft² even less used. I wouldn't recommend doing any more than 36 ft² (41 watts per ft² with 1,500 watt HPS) with any type of bulb unless you have multiple lights or a light mover...'Course thats just math and speculation talking, I would never, and never have gone with anything above a 600 watt bulb anyway. The diagrams for the 250 (27.8 per ft²), 400 (25 per ft²), 600 (16.7 per ft²), and 1,000 (20.5 per ft²) watt bulbs don't look right either. The 100 and 150 watt bulbs don't have any dimentions on the diagram, so I wouldn't know about those. -PMX [This message has been edited by PIMPmaster_X (edited August 30, 2000).] | ||

![]() | PIMPmaster_X... Thank god you took care of the numbers, i wasn't really in a mood for that ![]() Doubious... Recomended for Marijuana top production, is 7500 lumens S/F; 1000W should cover 4x4, 600W 4x3 and 400W 3x3, but shure one can use less, just have to make shure on the strain to pick; some need higher light levels then others... wolfman
