I was thinking about getting a few ballast kits from here.

Of course I would get good reflectors and grow bulbs from other places. I am aware that the ballast comes in kit form that needs to be assembled, but will I loose any efficency by buying a cheap ballast. ~100 for a 1000 watt HPS seems like a really good deal. What advantages do expensive ballast have?
