![]() | Yep, I said 3.5 sq. feet. That's 1 foot deep and 3.5 feet wide =[ The first time I tried to grow in this space I had 4 double barreled Fluoresscent shop lights, hung verticaly, on all sides of the room (with no air flow/fans)... After germination I planted 2 NL seedlings and 1 shwag seed from a sketchy bag I got the week before. Anyway... I only ended up having one of the seedlings poke through the dirt (a 4 to 1 ratio of potting soil to perlite). That sprout grew at the rate of a half inch per week...! (with the lights on 24/7) After 2 weeks I desided to abort the operation. What was I doing wrong? I know during those two weeks I was overwatering a bit (just a bit under 2 quarts of water a day [heh], split amoung the 3 plants), but was it also the lack of dirrect light from the fluos? After that uneventful grow, I ended up scraping my current rig and trying something different. Now I've got two lights hanging sideways at what SEEMS to be a 45` angle, going from top left to bottom right, and an other hanging verticly from the left wall of the room. I've just rigged an old skateboard and some string to make a shelf wich will be moved to the left as the plants grow. I REALY wish i could take pictures and post em', but my quick cam is busted. :\ Does this rig sound alright? I'm not by any means looking to grow BIG buds... I just wanna get the plant to veg out for about a foot or two before I flower it. Oh it should be mentioned that tubes I'm using for the fluoros are of 3150 lumens... I dunno if that's 3150 lumens each tube or 3150 lumens for the pair (there the Residential Lights by General Electric)... I've also got an other light fixture and and a pair of fluoro tubes waiting on standby... Should I just throw that one in the room too? there's realy no space for it, but I suppose I could figure somehthing out. I know this is sorta a long post, sorry about that! I'm just a bit vexed, and need some help. Thanks everyone =)

![]() | yo dude Your room is a nice size (you do need fans)not to much light in the beginning 1 fluro tube to start, myself i have never flowered with flus but it seems possible by all accounts. i would suggest reading some of the other posts and you will learn a good deal about all aspects of growing. In soil to much water doesnt mix i know that. You use a sort of moist to dry rotation.Once u got your ladies going drop lighting to 20 /4 or 18/6 if u have enough power. Keep on tokin QHC.

![]() | So I was definetely over watering right? Okay. What about the lights tho? I remember reading somewhere that hang the lights verticaly was okay. If so, should I go back to hanging them verticaly (so I can fit more lights in the room? I've actually just figured out a way to get an additional fluoro fixture riged sideways with the other two I was telling ya about. So... what's better? 4 vertical fluoros (8 tubes) or 3 almost horozontal fluoros (only 6 tubes)?
