So I was just thinking of drilling some holes in the reflector and attaching some flexible hosing and an extraction fan. Now is this a good idea? Sounds like it in my head but Ive been wrong before! If Im barkin up the wrong tree how do I go about makin it air cooled. Ta for any help

Hey, check out the DIY Cool Tube thread. I think it's in the lighting forum, but could possibly be in constructino or just indoor growing. If you can't find it quickly, just search for cool tube. It should detail how to do exactly what you are thinking. I plan on making one myself.

Peace,
Cloudy-B

augman, you are posting a question under almost every thread. You might want to take a look at all the threads, as many of your questions are already answered.

If you look at the thread I recommended, you'd see that a cool tube has a fan and hose that blows the heat from the bulb right out of the box. Just aiming a fan at the light only circulates the heat inside of the box until the exhaust fans slowly kick it out. The cool tube is just more efficient and therefore is supposed to keep the enclosure it cooler.

Good luck,
Cloudy-B

aug a fan blowing on the light would cool the outside down but it wouldnt blow out all the hot air trapped in the inside being produced by the bulb, which is the main reason for a fan
..thankyou
