There are few discussions on this forum about the specific lights that people prefer. Yes, we can and have talked about the type of light (HPS, MV, Floro, etc), but I have found little information regarding who makes the best product of the aforementioned. I have visited many a store, and many a website and have found that the information they supply to the consumer is lacking. Is there a particular brand that anyone here sticks to, or stays away from? I only ask this because I am currently looking to upgrade my current setup, so if anyone would be so kind as to PM me as to where they purchased their light, I would also appreciate that. ![]()

![]() | What are you using as a setup as of now? What are you looking for in your next setup? I'm running (2) MH400's, and intend on just purchasing the MH to HPS conversion bulbs for flowering. I got a good deal that I just couldn't pass up for these. I don't really think you would need anything for than 600watts.

![]() | the brand really doesn't matter, but there are exceptions. the hortilux blue spectrum hps is by far the best from what i have seen and read. i prefer the comercial electric brand of compact floro as far as floro is concerned. but high pessure sodium of metal halide is the better buy as far as efficiency goes.

![]() | i use 600wtt hps hurtilux.. best by far.... you will pay more for them but thet r so worth it!! there almost 1/2 the pwr as a 1000wtt they just make sence to me. for my clones i put a fish tank flouro that comes w/ a reflector hood,, the kind that goes on a 10-20 gallon tank..i rest it on the top of the clone dome.. put a fan on it or else you will steam the cuttz, the fan keeps it cool, i spray 1 time a week if that & i have about a 95-100% survival i can show a pic when i learn how 2
