The first graph here (on the bottom) is interesting for those that are using shielded lighting. The second (on the bottom) is a PPFD vs power consumption graph.

There are a couple of MH bulbs that look as good as some HPS bulbs I've seen. The Coralvue 10K & 20K bulbs (a couple posts back) are pretty interesting. Oddly enough...the Coralvue 15K doesn't really fit in-between these two in respect to a pattern.

The Vion 10K bulb looks better than a Hortilux HPS, yet gets no mention amongst horticulture bulbs. <EDIT> So of course I can't find it anywhere The best price I've found on the Coralvue 10K, is $59.95 all included. (20K is the same)

Amazing thread. Is it a sticky yet? Library?

Didn't have 1 hr on Memorial Day planned for lighting research but I couldn't help myself.
Great research, you guys. What a benefit having this thread.
I just kind of assumed the lighting mfg's had our best interest at heart. Must have been that 'assume' word doing it's stuff

Something does need to be done to get the mfg's to take note. It's like the Detroit Lions, as long as all the tickits are sold why improve the team?
If we don't make noise nothing will change.
I will be asking at my grow shop.
Of course money speaks loudest, but is there anything else that can be done?

I will have to reread this a few times, no doubt.

Thanks

I'll put it in the Library when people are finished adding information. The threads in there are closed.

I've still been shopping around lately. Some interesting bulbs here. I was looking for something in the high 600nm range this time. I found a bit of everything, but I'll start there. This top bulb has me intrigued enough to buy a few to check out.

Because some of these bulbs are used for reptiles, they may include UV-A and/or UV-B light.

That first bulb is a Chromalux.

Here are the rest. There are some seriously interesting bulbs hiding in some of these non MJ applications. Makes me wonder what the problem is with the horticultural bulb mfg's. None of them seem to be able to cover the far red spectrum, and even those that cover the blues, don't do it as efficiently as these.

I told my wife today, that I wont need Mylar soon. Because I'll have walls of (some of these) fluoro tubes pretty soon.....she shook her head and laughed in a way that told me she knew I wasn't kidding.

Guys,

after reading your discussions, i did a bit of digging around myself and came up with THESE fella's.
The actinic blue looks very usable, especially in the narrower T5 size. only thing, they advise not to use with a normal coil start up unit, but a suitable circuited ballast.

Marine Blue actinic T5 Marine White T5

i also was wondering waht effect the moons blue light would have on the Night period of plants growing outside, as i came across this and just got to thinkin..........

and also found this too.

Aqua Gro tubes.

Hey Lilbud

That 1st bulb you have there is called "Super Actinic R" over here. I have 6 of them running right now with my current grow. That last one looks pretty interesting.

Beener,

I did a search for super R and couldn't find anything over this side of the water.
but from the SPD for the actinic Blue T5 i thought it looked very similar to the ones you were infact usin, Q tho, have you modified your set up to accomodate the T5's, as im thinkin it could work out just as expensive as envirolites if i need to include ballast's in my Budget.

Lilbud.
