moving towards my sixth week from seedling, blueberry. 400w ml and will be switching to hps in about a month. as of now, my light is vented and cool to the touch. my light is about 2 inches from the biggest plant. however, my biggest plant is much bigger then the rest, hogging all the light. should i move the light up, or down? also, how much distance should i have my light when i change to the HPS? Thanks

![]() ![]() ![]() | w/o a cool tube u should be 12-18 inches away w/a cool tube u could get 6-8 inches away the heat could stress your ladies if i were u i would move the light up a little bit . or add a fan to blow air across the tops of the plants and bottom of the bulb but beware heat issues will cause leaves to turn yellow and dry out

You should be able to keep a 400w with no glass or cool tube about 8" from the tops of the plants, and a lot closer with a cool tube. Set up a small oscillating fan to blow in betwen the lamp and the plants. Hold your hand palm down at the top of the canopy, if you can hold it there without discomfort for a minute then the plants should not heat stress. ![]() penguin

Penguin does know his stuff. If it was me I would listen to what he says.................if its possible ![]()
