switched my HPS

I just switched from my 70watt HPS to a 150watt philips HPS bulb. but it doesn't seem too much brighter.

That may not be the safest thing to do.
Your ballast is meant to use only a 70w bulb. Although a 150w may fit in the socket, it is potential for a fire or a short life span. The reason the bulb doesn't seem brighter is because the it is only consuming half the recommended wattage.
