Metal halide lamps emit light closer to the blue end of the spectrum and because of this, they are the preferred lamp for the vegetative stage of growth creating a shorter and plant with a strenghtened stalk. The taller your plants grow indoors, the more difficult it becomes to get a good yeild. You'll see your plants stretching higher towards the light souce if it isn't the right intensity or spectrum. The stretching causes more distance between buds and decreased yeild. The light emitted by a HPS is closer to the red end of the spectrum, which is what the plant craves during the flowering stage. High Pressure Sodium is used during flowering beacause it increases bud size by up to 15%. If you don't have the budget to purchase both a MH and a HPS for your grow setup, just use a MH for both the vegetation and for flowering. You can also buy those new spiral florencence, which are 260 watts and great for growing in the closet. I get my seeds from BCSeeds.com - Original British Columbia Marijuana Seeds Canada. Cannabis Cup Strains and try to find a non stinky strain and NEVER skunk for growing indoors. we don;t want to get caught. My personal Fav is Purple Power for easy growing and nice high. DutchSeeds.com - Original Marijuana Seeds from Amsterdam. Cannabis Cup Strains has Northern Lights that is similar to Jack Herrer...a real trippy insane buzz, almost hallucinagenic. Bubblegum makes me unable to talk and looking for a couch. Peace out, peaceman Last edited by buzzmobile; 09-13-2006 at 06:09 PM.. Reason: De-SPAMMING

Are you asking a question or just reciting books? We all have different opinions. Considering that the most important phase is the flowering one, I would venture to say that I would get the HPS, NOT the MH as you suggested. But once again, No one asked a question here so I guess I'm just bored and typing for no reason.
