I am considering changing to a smaller set up like a 250 HPS, 150 HPS to help save a little on my electric bill. I'm thinking ahead to when the temps will increase in my attic/room and 2 cabs, as far as adding more suction to remove the heat and the power involved. I realize that my yield would go down but does anyone use 250 or 150 HPS on a perpetual harvest and satisfied with their own personal use??????? Thank you for your thoughts, Nature

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I use a 250W hps for flowering and 170W HPS for veg, on my first grow I did 2 O's 16 grams with bag seed, cheap soil, and MG tomato fertilizer, and I made alot of mistakes. This time around I've refined my technique, learned from my mistakes, I bought good genetics and Im using FF ocean forest soil, FF grow big, tiger bloom and bloom big, and Im hoping to do well over 3 O's, which is easily obtainable with a 250W, there are 250W growers on here pulling 4 O's. I only burn about a 1/4 of kine bud a month so 3oz will last me almost all year.

Im on my second grow first time was bag seeds the potency was lower than Im used to so Im doing a second grow from seed with better soil, ferts and genetics. As for the lighting I have 3 different fixtures, 70 watt hps, 100 watt hp, and a 250 watt hps. I combine the 100 and the 70 for vegging to save on power consumption and I flower under the 250W.

A 250w must give a higher yield. All depends of your needs. Surely i will get more than 2x the yield using a 400w HPS, probably i could multiply yield by 3 just doubling the power, but im happy with what i get with my setup, i dont need more. And coupled with the little ventilation requeriments, the electrical consuption of the whole setup is about 3,73 Kwh a day (about 113Kwh each month at full power in continous use, wich is less than 15€ here).

![]() | I have a 250 and a 400 in two different vented boxes, and i seem to be getting better results with the 250 because i can controll the temperature A LOT better. The 400 was a mess. Im always one to go best of the best, so im kinda bummed that the 400 is too much, but its all about the results....
