So THC melts at like 200 F and goes away at like 300 something(390+ was it? shoot i cant remember anyways..) so when baking it do you want to set the oven to like 275 F to make your cookies? It will take longer but i think it will be kinder to the thc..... I know when you make the butter you dont want it to get very hot at all due to the fact that you can easily cook it off if the butter gets too hot. so that seems like it would be the same when you cook with the cannabutter. I know setting the oven at 350 does still produce some decent cookies, but i feel for how much im putting in they should pack a better punch. maybe i just need to smoke less and maybe grow an indica next time whats yer vote on oven temps for canna baking?

As long as you stay away from the 392degrees that it is supposed to happen at, you should be fine. Know your oven and test it though, cause I know mine is off by 20 degrees that high up. I have a pretty old oven too, but still would suggest you check it if your doing alot of cooking. I'm always cooking and baking with oil or butter. For my stove, I cook on medium, which I've tested and on my stove runs 212 degrees. Most brownies and such have cook temperatures of 325 or 350 that come in the premixed boxes. And if it does call for a higher temperature, I don't raise the temperature, but the amount of cook time for whatever I'm cooing. It's not your cooking or baking that makes or breaks a receipe. It's how the butter or oil was made and how potent the oil is. You have to take into account how much oil or butter your receipe needs to know if you have to make your oil or butter more potent. If a receipe calls for 1/2 cup of either, I usually do 1 ounce of trim for 3 cups of oil. This will error on the safe side and nobody will have a bad experience. Some might need to eat more to get the effect they want, but better that way than somone eating something to strong for their system. If the receipe calls for 1/4 or 1/3 cup of oil, I'll make it 2 ounces of trim or bud to 3 cups of oil or butter. You also might want to adjust your amounts of each, but you have to have some sort of a place to adjust from. This would most likely be a good point for those people to be able o adjust up or down. The making of the butter or oil is what matters. The cooking mainly consists of ways to find to injest that oil or butter with it not tasting as nasty as it can. Doing muliple boil offs on the stove helps get rid of the green color of either one of these if the green color bothers you. Hope that helps some with their cooking techniques. I never just chop up the bud and add it to a receipe. That's all crunchy and grinding in the teeth. The best and only way is canna butter or canna oil IMO. Happy Cooking Alleycat

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | awesome thanks alley, I love to cook and have taught my self and no cook book seems to have any info about cannabis ![]() I have been adjusting my cooking temps to about 325 but sometimes i forget and set it to 375 and my stove is old so who knows if its really 375, 20 higher and im losing THC. ill make sure to keep it about 350 or lower. I use about 1 oz of trim for 2 cups of butter (after i clarify the butter i end up with 1.5 cups) and those seem to pack a very nice punch. one cookie is like smoking 5 bowls. can you completely saturate the oil or butter with THC? like how much is too much? seems like its just how crazy you want to be and you can add any amount. whats the most you have used ally?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | imo, cannabutter, cooking with leaf, buds, etc is so overrated. most people i know, who make cannabutter, or cook with cannabis cant/don't know how to, they always end up leaving tons of green debris behind, in the food they cook, which almost always invariably tastes like shit. it just seems so much easier, cleaner, to use kief or hash. no stems, no leaf, no green anything. kief is better then hash, since it is in powder form, it mixes well in most foods. i know the cooking "purists" would be screaming "but, you are losing/missing/wasting the rest of the plant...." bah, i don't want any green matter in my food! i hate tasting "grass" in every bite. i just go to the store and buy pre mixed cookie dough, mix in the desired amount of kief, and cook at slightly lower then they recommend on the package. (i believe i cooked at 275, for slightly longer, or untill the tops of the cookies were golden) and cookies came out fine.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I used to do a lot of canna butter & canna oil cooking, but the smell while making either got to be too tough to take! Now all my trim goes to making hash. I can cook with it, smoke it alone, or smoke it on some mj. Making it is all playing with mj, which is always fun!
