Super simple weed ice cream with half and half!
permalink

I made this recipe and really enjoyed it so I thought I'd share! You need an ice cream maker of some sort though, I have this 20 year old Donvier half-pint maker that works well and is easy to use. You can use the half/half to mix with milk and make chocolate milk, or pudding or put it in coffee or tea. It works great!

First you must infuse half and half:

1. After trim/bud is dry stick it in the freezer so it'll be all cold and crunchy.

2. Either use a double boiler, or as I do find two pots that fit into each other. Put about an inch of water in the bigger pot and start boiling water.

3. Take your trim and crush it up in the top (waterless) pot and pour enough half and half into it to cover the trim.

4. Put the smaller pot back in the pot of boiling water the half and half should not boil but just get hot and infused. Stir every 5-10 minutes and keep it going for about two hours adding water to the boiler when necessary. The half and half should not curdle or thicken as long as you stir it often and keep it from boiling.

5. Strain using a screen or piece of cheesecloth into a jar or container.

ICE CREAM!
It's fun to make your own flavors out of whatever but I find chocolate covers the taste pretty good. Sugar and cream with the half and half reminds me a lot of green tea ice cream (and looks like it too!)

I use:
1/3 cup of half/half
2 tbl spoons heavy whipping cream
2 tbl spoons of sugar
2 tbl spoons of grape juice
Small shot of lemon juice
1 egg

The juices can be substituted with anything from chocolate to vanilla extract or other juices. Hope someone else enjoys as much as I have been!

It is already step by step, is it confusing? I guess pictures are alway helpful.
But sure thing, It'll be up in a week or so when I have more dry trim!

P.S. Is the freezing step necessary or can I just use dried buds?

Cool dudes! Hope you enjoy it. Mint and chocolate chips would be great, but the food coloring is not necessary. It should come out at least as green as mint ice cream. I've been makin more too, but i never took any pictures (sorry brother maybe sometime) You don't need to freeze buds before you make it, I've just heard freezing trim allows the trichomes to be knocked off easier, I don't even know if it matters since you're not really "knockin" them off anyway... The only thing that I've been doing different is using a single latex glove to ring out as much half and half as I can from the green matter when I'm straining it. I find that with a pint of half and half and something near a 1/2 oz of dried bud I can make 4 cups of ice cream, which is eight half cup doses with approximatly (just under) 1/2 cup green cream to each cup of ice cream. You tend to lose an oz or two of half and half in the whole process. Of course with trim you just kinda gotta figure out the dosage...
