boil water and as much butter as you want to use. Throw in your well dried whatever, and let it simmer for an hour or so. Then put the whole mix into a bowl, and into the fridge/freezer. The butter will float up and make a layer on the top. Peel it off, ditch the water underneath, and you have butter.

what happens to the leaves that you put in. Does it stay in the butter. Also how strong do you make it. Lets say you add one of those cubes of butter used for baking, how much leaf. Thanks

Thanks for replying but you never answered an single question. Not trying to be rude....well maybe a bit, a lot of moderators reply to a question with out even answering it. Seems strange to reply but not answer the questions asked. I have got this type of run around from a number of moderators. Maybe that is why they have so many posts, they just type babble. Sorry if this offends some but that is the way I feel. Some on the other hand have given me very valubleinfo, thanks guys, I respect you.

I'm sorry you feel this way. From my reading of this thread the only question not answered was if the leaves stay in the butter. The answer is no. With the boiling they will sink before the butter congeals.

If you have problems with Mods or feel they are showing you a bad attitude whatever, please post in the HC.com forum and we'll get it all straightend out.

All of our staff are strictly volunteer and devote much time here for nothing more than our appreciation.

Smiles,

I like to boil my butter and leaf, then strain, then wring the leaf through a bit of cloth (rubber gloves required as it has to be done while it is still hot) then boil the resulting liquid down until it's about 5x the amount of butter I originally added, cool and separate.

250g of butter and one betty crocker extra moist cake mix does the trick nicely.
