First attempt at cannabutter and I've done something wrong. I'm no cook, so please help. 1.5 oz of trim with 8 oz of butter in the oven for 30 mins @ 200'F. Strained into another bowl and 6oz of Cadburys milk chocolate added. When melted and mixed, onto a plate to cool. Words are inadaquate to describe how foul this tastes. The nearest comparison is cod liver oil, only worse. I've managed one piece, tried another a bit later intending to swallow it in one, but as soon as it was in my mouth I knew I was going to gag unless I spat it out. g/f couldn't even manage one. (wimp) ![]() 1) What should I have done? (Nothing fancy please.) 2) Any way of rescuing this batch and getting it edible? Thanks.

Maybe it was foul at that point anyway. Anyway Lady Penelope has a suggestion, why don't you try and make a chocolate cake with it? You might just be making larger and larger things taste unpleasant though, makes more horrible things to eat. Good luck ![]()

![]() | I would imagine that as tasting pretty bad. When I make butter, I add a bit of lemon juice to it to mellow out the taste. Then I put the tub in the freezer and/or fridge to turn it back to butter. Now, use this like normal butter for bliss. It has a kinda weird taste to it, but still good. LP's suggestion sounds good to salvage what you have made. Substitute what you have for milk and butter in the recipe. You may need to add some more regular milk and butter depending on what the recipe calls for.

![]() | Once the first piece started working I was able to nibble it some. Works just fine. I'd guess that mix of butter and chocolate would taste greasy anyway without the weed. Next go I'll halve the weed and maybe more chocolate, lemon juice sounds good and letting it cool first sounds worth a try.

![]() | maybe next time you shoulkd try cannaflour you mix 75mL of dried cannabis buds ore good trim finely chopped or grated in a food processor and then you fill up the flour to the 200mL mark and you have cannabis flour. from there on you can make whatever with it brownies pankakes so on. --surfey

try using kif rather than trimmings. thats how i cook mostly all of my herbal food. makes the texture 100% alike the original and there is no bitter taste of weed, but rather a pleasant thc aroma. i dont think this would make ur chocolate taste good, but maybe just more bearable! just tryin to help! andrea ![]()
