![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i have always had the same experience with brownies. in my opinion, they absolutely suck for getting high on. i personally am a thin person and probably don't absorb much fat. since the cannabinoids are bonded to the lipid molecules, I do much better with a more concentrated dose, like a cookie (what did you think mamabudz was talking about??). there is just so much to digest in a brownie. nothing works better than my double butter oatmeal-blended chocolate chip cookies. -and Bust it, i've never simmered the weed for more than 5 minutes in butter. if i guessed, i'd say you fried it all off! vive le biscotti -LFD

i was under the impression that using the water as a medium to mix the "oils" and the butter "oils" kept the THC from burning out(doesnt it "burn" at a higher temp than water boils?)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i'm no expert but i'm pretty sure that with a high enough temperature, the THC would vaporize regardless of whether there was water or not. of course... that temp is really goddam high! i think THC boils at 390! but when i think about the bottom of the pan, the contact point there is quite hot... hot enough to degrade the molecule. -LFD

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | sounds plausable, water boils at what, 212 degrees though and doesnt go over that temp would that not keep it from burning up?

![]() | Maybe i did vaporize it off. I was under the impression that boiling the water prevented it from burning the actual weed, keeping thc intact, because isn't the boiling point for water much lower than the vaporizing point for pot? i guess not though? I just found out that another friend, who ate one, felt the affects from it. does it make sense that your tolerance could be so high you wouldn't feel anything from a pot brownie? I would think that, except everyone who posted saying the recipe worked for them seemed to use weed as frequently as me or my friends.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes... yes.. No.. and yes... Errr let me begin again. Since water does not get hot enough for the THC to evaporate you cannot lose the THC while there is water left. This is why I use water in the. However, some people can smoke and not eat brownies.. or vice versa. It is merely body type. IF you are not getting high I might suggest using more green or scraps. If you got enough pot in there you are going to get high no matter what... Don't forget to mix the butter/watter/scrap concoction while it is simmering. good luck KP

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yep, much lower than the vaporizing point of weed. but what i'm saying is that the contact point at the bottom of the pot could conceivably reach a temperature high enough to vaporize the weed. paper burns at 451 degrees and burns pretty easily in a nice hot pan. I don't know the condensation properties of cannabinoids, but I assume they don't really condense at all after they've vaporized. the water vapor/bubbles in a normal boiling pot of water usually condense back into liquid form before they even reach the top of the waterline, as the temp drops near the surface. my thought was that because thc is h20 insoluble, if incidently vaporized, it would have no place to go but up and out of the mixture. So too much heat could be an issue, and 3 straight hours of boiling kind of begs it to be brought up. so since i'm not the chemist we need here, i'd say boil lightly... and that's about all i wanted to say... it sure as hell took me a long time to realize that! ![]() -LFD

![]() | KarmasPayment, I think you're right when you say that it depends on body type. {Mod note -- Discussion of drugs other than marijuana is off topic. Please review and adhere to our Posting Guidelines.} LittleFatDog, good call. I hope that's not the case I can't wait to try out the brownies we made...we used your recipe, with chocolate chunks inside, m&ms on top, buttermilk icing on that, and designs with green icing on top of that. Should be amazing Last edited by Lizzie Borden; 04-21-2004 at 01:35 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sup LFD... I agree.. But the recipe, I orginally got from "The Chemist" he is still pissed that I used his recipe... So here is props to The Chemist for the original recipe once again. Also once it hits boil, I put it on low boil and just let it simmer with the lid on... But either way you will lose less THC then when you just pan fry. That is a lot riskier. KP
