Hi KP, Well I made some cracking cannabutter. I used 375g of cooking margarine, 4 cups of water and 59g bud trim and popcorn buds and boiled most of the water off, cooled it, stuck it in the fridge and prised the disk out the next day. Used an ounce and a quarter of it in some cookies but we burnt the first lot  . Still tried the least burnt one each and got a nice hit, wobbly legs I made another batch tonight, with out burning them this time  and we're about to have one each and go with the flow, though I think two may be fun Help yourself to a cookie  Xjo | ||

| Good to hear XJO.. Sucks you burnt the first batch  I did that with brownies before and it made me really mad. Did you strain it before it went in the fridge??? Let us know how it works out, can't wait to hear a QC report.KP | ||

Hi KP, I sieved it with some nylon material folded twice and placed in a sieve and not one bit of plant matter got through. You can taste the butter in the cookies, but its not overpowering the taste of the cookies  Nice clean feeling hit you get, I had two cookies last night and they certainly do the job, I now think the dose would be 3 cookies to get nice and mashed. If you wait till the cookies start to work and then smoke a joint its very nice indeed. Thanks KP Xjo  | ||

| Got a question for ya. Does your trim of bud have to be completley dry before you make the butter? I just hung up a plant a couple of days ago, so it's not completely dry yet. Will this make a differnece in making the butter? Thanks-JP

| Good questions. I have used wet trim before. Fresh trim cut right off the plant. Here is the dilema. People like leaving the leaves (trim) on because the buds will absorb nutes from the leaves. The leaves then shrivle and die. So the longer you leave the leaves on the less potent the trim will be. If you are willing to cut the trim off now before it becomes yellow and brittle, go for it. Best method for utilizing the trim. Maybe huck in some of the popcorn buds and you will be ok. Let me know if you need anything else. KP | ||

... do fan leaves count... of is that trim. see i had two males that i got in my batch and i dried them. to be honest, any and all leaves that were on any plant have been dried and kept in a cardboard box. i am accumulating quite a stash of dried leaves and stem.... so can this be used, or only the nice crystally trim from the buds... sorry a little confused... and if so... how much of this mix box of fan leaves would u reccomend?? nice thread, i've been wanting to do this ever since i started saving my leaves... hit me back... skitz

| token420in03 sorry it took so long to get back to you. Yes, I have tried putting it in the freezer. But problems insued. THe butter would not solidify uniformly. The sides would freeze up and the middle would be all soft. and the particles on the bottom of the butter would attach to it. So I just leave it in the fridge overnight now. Skitzo63 welcome bro. Fan leaves do indeed count as trim. Depending on the strain there is usually some thc or cannabanoids contained within the fan leave. However, this seems to be more usuable with Female leaves then male. But males can work. As I have said before, the potency of the plant effects the potency of the butter. So it is hard to give a number for the amount. When I would fan leaves and stems I would use a lot. Atleast 2 four foot plants worth. Probably a few pounds of scraps. There isn't as much potency so it can be harder to just use scraps. good luck, let me know if anyone has any other questions KP | ||

| Nice thread. Looking forward to trying it. Have you ever made the canna butter and then froze it for future use? What about freezing some of the cookies that have been baked for future use? Thanks for any help. | ||
