when i use vaporizer "duff" i compare its quality to schwagg and use about an ounce of the stuff to make some cookies. and if the quality of your starting MJ is already lower, then yes you will need even more to achieve a certain stone that better grade MJ will give you.(all my vaporizer duff is from high grade MJ) and to answer your last question! your "duff's" potency will vary tons, mainly on the fact of how hot do you set your vaporizer to, and what does the "duff" look like coming out of it. if all your duff is charred or black then you probably have used all the THC and burned some of the plant matter as well. I intentionally burn my MJ in the vap on a lower setting for two reasons. I dont like getting ANY smoke from it, defeats the point of using it. and two I like the duff to come out with THC in it so i can use it for cookies. and when i do this I still get PLENTY high, and im no lightweight.( i do use more MJ though) my duff looks like brown schwagg once im done with the vaporizer, other friends of mine's is darker or black cuz they keep it hotter. hope this helps ~snw | |||

![]() | can you use a nute deffied plant to make the canna butter or would that not be healthy( not that mj really is but its so worth it)?? its burnt up pretty bad too. also how much weight in scrapes do most people use??? | ||

When I harvested my first crop, I seperated my scraps into two groups: "sugary" trim that had obvious crystals all over it, and then everything else (fan leaves, etc). I used the sugary stuff to make hash shortly after harvest. I still have the bag of random trim leftover, though. There are also alot of larger branch-type stems in this bag. I don't wanna throw it out, but I also don't wanna just let it sit here. Would it be worth it to make butter out of this type of trim that doesn't have alot of visible crystals? Thanks for reading. EDIT: Can I use coffee filters instead of cheese cloth? I have everything else and I'm ready to go. Just wondering if I could make that substitute. I was on my couch until 10 pm... when my wife got home at 7 pm it was hard for me to talk to her... wow... DON'T use 6 ozs of trim....

Karma, I have been reading through the thread today and after looking around on the net for a few weeks.. it sounds like you know your way around the kitchen (albeit stumbling in a self induced haze). I would like to pick your brain if I could. I have a choice to make.. I can make a small amount of knockout screen hash, or I can try edibles and make some Cannabutter. Never eaten it before, sans a chunk of good old imported Redwrap hash back in the day to avoid a lengthy court preceding , but I digress.I would like to know why you suggest Margarine, when everything else I have read says to use Butter so that the THC will bond to the fat. Some people state that margarine will not solidify properly and turns to a sludgy paste instead of a butter consistency and I wanted your opinion on it. Also I wanted to know if I can substitute margarine for butter in your recipe, as some have complained of the smell of the margarine. Lastly.. Salted or Unsalted butter.. why or more importantly, why not. I really hope you still post on these boards, I am a little late to the party as your profile says you joined in 2001. thanks. | ||

If any gets through, clean the strainer out and pour into a new bowl. No big deal. I also dont grind my stuff up to bits though. | ||

![]() ![]() | Hey I completely followed the steps but instead of using margerinke sticks i used 250 of the softer margerine that coumes in a round container. After putting it in the fridge overnight the margerine didnt harden like a puck, did i just waste the batch or what. here is what it looks like. | ||
