![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have drank tea brewed from stems of buds and it was great. It really does work. Also on a side note, there is no wood in marijuana plants. It is a herbacious plant and doesnt contain a cork cambium layer let alone any wood cells. They are fine to smoke and in fact often have quite a bit of THC among the intraplant routes (stems that connect leaves). Peace on the beach LFD

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you've never steeped tea before this may all be new to you. You can buy a "tea-ball" (a metal sphere with perforations) for a matter of cents at the grocery store. In that I recommend you put at least a dime-size amount, stems are ok. if you are using strictly stems it will take more, also, it is good to cut the stems into small pieces (the plant products are kept in sieve-tube member cells, these run together end to end to produce vessels so they are like a tube and must be reduced in size to best extract their contents) Ok, 1. take the tea ball, put the weed in there. dont worry about little pieces floating out of it. (you'll see why) 2. boil water on the stove, immediately pour it into a mug, with the teaball in it. 3. add at least one teabag for flavor (unless you are a weed connoisseur). 4. Let the tea steep (sit) until it is cool enough to drink, stir occasionally. some tea balls have chains on them and you can wiggle them around while they are steeping. 5. Remove weed from tea ball and press, drip contents into mug. 6. add honey, milk, lemon, whatever you pleasure. 7. down the hatch! 8. number 8 is where i lose people sometimes. this is because at number 8 i recommend eating the weed that has been steeped. its not bad at all, i even like it and it will get you higher. you can also use tea-bags if no tea-balls are handy, just cut one open, empty, refill with weed, you get the idea. some people think that weed-tea is not possible because of the fact that thc is not water-soluble. this, my friend, is bullocks as the mixture of water and THC, much like the water and lactose in milk, act as a suspension. This is probably the healthiest way to get high. Good luck love, LFD

not being water soluble really has nothing to do with the THC's ability to exist in water. If you drop a handful of sand in water it won't jump out, it simply won't mix as a solution (dissolve), the thc doesnt need to either. The hot water (and cutting up the stems) causes cells to become turgid and lyse (explode) or simply draws out their contents by nature of the concentration gradient. when cells do lyse, this is not a visible explosion, we are talking microscopic level. this would not be possible if marijuana were not a herbacious plant as a periderm and cork/ cork campbium act as protection. marijuana can not and will not ever contain wood. also hot water does act to liquidate the sugars in the sieve tube cells and sugar-sinks. not so much in the xylem. all products of photosynthesis are trasported by symplast through sieve cells (also known as phloem) and we often call these products sap. One other thing. The u.s. government recommends medicinal marijuana users make tea instead of smoking cigarettes. I am guessing they looked into it. the f.d.a. is pretty good with those things. good luck with the tea if you decide to make it. -remember to let it steep at least an hour, (1.5 hrs is best) -LFD
