COPD and blood clots in the lungs....

It's been a bad week, my wife was diagnosed with COPD and has blood clots in different parts of her body, and also in one of her lungs . Does anyone have these issues or know of anyone that has these issues, and how does that affect marijuana usage. I am asking because she has other ailments that feel better after smoking (fibromyalgia, and some others).

Will she still be able to smoke, vape, or eat it when this is all over?

COPD will pretty much rule out any smoking. I'm not sure about the effects of vaporizing, but eating would be the best alternative.

COPD is not good. Eating is the best alternative. She shouldn't be smoking anything - not even vaping. How is her heart? Did they say anything about Ventricular Fibrillation? That may be causing the blood clots. She needs to be on anti-cloting meds and they will most likely put her on steriods for the COPD.

sorry to hear it, Speedy. I wish you and your Mrs the best

Mary Jane

speedracer-x---Sorry to hear that's going on. I would definatley suggest the eating route from here on out for her. If she's toking right now, it's gonna just be the same thing. For me I have to get my lungs totally open with hitting an inhaler before I stop from coughing from taking a hit. And sometimes that doesn't happen for me until late in the afternoon, so coughing all day. I myself should be eating more I'd bet. I also have an artery(sp) that returns blood from my stomach, like kidney or something like that. It literally closed off and instead of one big artery running blood back to my heart, it's made a bypass of a bunch of small veins running around the closed off part and can't run near the blood that the artery was. Was noticed during one of my many hospital visits under cat scan. It's not a blood clot, but would imagine along the same lines. I can tell at times if more active that I can start to get lightheaded I imagine from not getting enough blood back to my heart to pump to my head. Just would suggest to look out for any lightheadedness from her. There's some pretty good meds out now for blod clots, so hopefully one will work for her.

Happy Eating

Thanks everyone, turns out it wasn't COPD, just blood clots in the lungs and various other parts of the body. Just bought a crock pot to slow cook some butter, it has a thermometer in it. Anyone know the time and temp to use for a crock pot to make butter?

I'm glad to hear it is not COPD, but it still sounds bad. I hope she's ok.

As for making butter, I just turn the crockpot on low and let it simmer for 10 to 12 hours.

Mary Jane budder you say?!

Glad to hear it's not COPD! Best of luck with the clot issue.

As for the budder...I crank my crock pot on high till it boils for a good couple hours...sometimes all night, then I'll turn it back to low/med a few hours before straining. I feel like the bubblin action helps stir it up. Make sure you grind up your material real good in a food processor/blender/cofee grinder, that helps too.

edit Get yourself some silicone oven mitts to wring out the cheesecloth, that hot budder burns!

Thanks everyone, for everything

The blood clots are not good BC, you are right, but they will go away and in 6 months she will get tested again. Hopefully everything will be fine and there will be no more blood thinners to take.

MC, I will grind it up like you say.

Thanks again everyone!!!
