strain selection for self-med

Hey all,

I am in search of strains that have very specific medicinal effects. I started with a short-list of about ten, and the more I research the longer the list gets. It is past fifty now. The problem is I do not have access to medical MJ and cannot afford to fly to Amsterdam, so I have no way of testing.

The specific "conditions" I am trying to manage are: Migraines, Back/Neck/Joint Pain and Depression/Melancholia The Dep comes with chronic fatigue so if the MJ is good for insomnia, it is bad for me.

I am looking at two maybe three strains (for now)...I do not plan to buy until like oct/nov, but if I had to choose today Burma Berry, Trainwreck and maybe Colombian Gold top the list.

Let me know what your favorites are, if you could include a brief description of symptoms they are useful for that would be great.

Thanks Basqueinzakism, That is a great link, I had read that one previously... It is one of the sources that turned my short list into a long one.

PiGMan, I am not sure where to get burma berry... I got the name from the list that Basqueinzakism posted above. I shortlisted it because it is "allegedly" good for Migraines and Depression

Ultimately I was hoping that medical MJ users might chime in with "well, I use ____ for my Migraines" etc. I just don't want to pick strains based solely on name and description... and then hope it is good for my ailments. Just seems to me that selecting the stains I "need" through a guess and check method is very inefficient, and could take years to fine tune. Just thought I might me be able to put myself a bit ahead of the game.

Again, Thanks

Sorry mate, unfortunately I can not prescribe anything. I have not been able to dabble much in the gene pools.. maybe in a few months once I move to CA, I will have a better input. As for now, trial and error does not sound Horrible

Go pick yourself up some Mandala Satori beans. I can't recommend this strain enough.

Thanks, My problem is I (like many) don't have access to any Medical MJ dispensary, so if I pick a "useless" strain I will have months and hundreds invested before I even know. I guess worst case scenario, I end up with a bunch a good weed that only gets me really high.
