Well, I've tried many strains, and some manage to induce the munchies. Some more so than others, I've noticed. I can smoke, eat, smoke, eat.... where as some strains, I smoke and will forget to eat.

I know of some females who are anti mj because it gave them the munchies, and made them tired so it gave them cause for concern about their body image. I know myself have had no power of will to stop myself from the munchie monster, yet other times the smoke just doesn't do it for me, or I'm so in tune with an uplifting, motivational high that the thought of "food" does not really occur to me.

It would be cool if there was a way to cross strains with say, some beneficial plant used in dietary supplements like the cactus plant hoodia comes from. I suppose the easier route would be to pin-point the very strains that demonstrate an appetite suppressing affect and mate them. This may be one of my goals.

Anyone ever thought of, or tried this before?

(Note to MODS: I was unsure if this should go here or theories and speculation. If I chose the wrong one, forgive me.)

In my experience couch-lock and munchies go hand in hand.

I don't think it would be possible to have a marijuana plant that gets you really stoned without giving the munchies because it seems to be a result of the cannabinoid ratio of the bud. So, just stick with sativa dominant strains.

Also, i have to say it. Anyone who doesn't smoke weed because of munchies is just a pussy. A couple handfuls of trail mix will settle your stomache. Munchies will keep food tasting great but its not like you feel starved even when you just ate. Some people just need a little willpower.

Also I never smoked indicas in the morning

As far as crossing with non-MJ plants, not possible, you're talking gene splicing, a little beyond the capabilities of your average home gardener.

there is a specific cannabinoid that actually surpresses hunger, it is THCV. So do the cannalytics and make sure you have a strain with that cannabinoid. Though it is an atagonist,it adds to the impact of the THC, making it more powerful ("flashy"). It decreases the length of the high.

I hear ya Bluecheese and Sso. It all seems strain specific to me, or maybe something else is going on. I sometimes wonder if the extreme couch lock effect doesn't just make me so worn out, that I crave something to relieve the effects.

t-1000, that happens all too often. I usually try to keep a primarily sativa dominant strain for wake and bake, just to prevent from ruining my day. I tell them all to try sativas if they want that non sedative, talkative high and they dont believe me.

Tripps, that would be a sight to see. A cactus-like mj plant. You couldn't touch it because it would prick the shit outa you. A revolution in guerrilla gardening.

whazzup, I will have to look into this further. Although I don't see why the high would have to be shorter, just because it's not a heavier sedative high. Chemdawg I have smoked would leave me high for 3-4 hours, no hunger. I may have answered my own question just now, but I see room for improvement. A specific strain, known for these benefits. Imagine the impact.

MJ IS NOW FAT FREE!

Hello,

I would advise looking at a few different seed banks and start going through their strains and smoke reports if you can find them. There are definitely crosses out there and I am will to bet you one glazed doughnut of your choice that there is one out there for you. The good news is you get to find out by smoking

Good Luck,

bert
