I bought one of those neat new sharpstone grinders that has razor sharp teeth and includes a pollen screen. I now have a bunch of sweet yellow pollen collected I the bottom and want to but it to use. My MJ is gone but these leftovers are as pure as it gets?!

My idea was a tincture, but after soaking my plastic vaporizer tube in vodka for a week, I see the collection of honey oil inside the tube is not dissolving into the alcohol. I fear a tincture might not dissolve the pollen either. Is there a secret I'm missing here? What does it take to dissolve the honey oil? There's a bend in my pipe that holds at least 4 rice sized amounts of oil. What a waste to use a Q-tip to clean and throw it out! ;-(

Does anyone else have experience with this? dissolving pollen and/ or oil into a tincture?

So, there are plenty of methods using oil out there, but none using only using a small amount.. to make a potent oil based tincture. With oil or vodka, I was hoping to have this strong enough , from using pure pollen, that a few drops in my coffee could act as my pain medicine for 12 hours or so. Not so much to get to get stoned, but potent enough to relieve stress and pain.

There's an awful lot of creative medicinal MJ users on here. Have any of you used your pollen for a tincture or essential oil type mix? Are there other good uses for this pollen, besides compressing it into hash... which seems like a one shot waste of a pure product! I have about 3mm depth of pollen n my grinder, plus the stuff is stuck all over the place. I thought of putting the entire grinder into a cup of vodka! LOL BTW, there is no pure 99% rubbing alcohol available, even at a pharmacy (need prescription) and also no Everclear. I have only 40% Vodka or 70% rubbing Alchy. haven't tried the 70% rub alchy yet. Worth a bother?

Has anyone her used Drobinal? It's THC oil, by prescription. Can I make this? I don't which to create 'honey oil" from this... ST less potent and easier to deal with. I don't know if scraping the pollen into a small amount of olive oil, then heating it, would make an oil based tincture, ready to be dropped into my morning coffee. :-))

I think what you're talking about is called Kief....they only call it pollen in the head shops to be PC. Just sprinkle it on your weed when in bowls or in joints etc.

If you don't have any weed then press it together and smoke it off a screen or hot knife it.

How much we talking about? Grinders hold enough kief for a few hits. Unless you have half an ounce or more, I wouldnt waste dissolving it into anything.

Imo, its best to smoke it. If you dont want to smoke it, cook with it.

I only have what's in the bottom of the grinder... and no MJ. I figured this stuff is way more potent than a gram of MJ? I was hoping that a drop of this in tincture form would be like one capsule of MJ, stength wise. Just vaping it seemed a waste. cooking might be possible... I need that long lastign effect from eating MJ!

How much of this kief, not pressed, is like one bowl of MJ? I was hoping i had accumulated a littl bit of gold...

i would say what you are considering "pollen" is actually just finely ground and powdered cannabis, although there is a possibility of there being crystals in there as well ...

the funny part about this is you can find the same stuff in the bottom of a garbage bag full of bud !

o yeah, possibly rubbing alcohol will work better for you wanting to dissolve anything, although it would not be advisable to drink rubbing alcohol, it might be that drinking alcohol has been "proofed" that you are not getting the results you desire.

If you can find something to put at the bottom over the hole... just load up a bowl and blaze it. I've used anything from a fan leaf to a dab of tobacco out of a cig. Anything to keep the kif from sucking through the hole.

Shit is quite dank though and should get you severely stoned in 1-2 hits.

Don't use rubbing alcohol if you're going to put it in your coffee... Just soak the keif in the vodka. Keep it cool and dark for as long as you can, at least a week.The alcohol will absorb the good stuff

I finally found soem real alcohol to order at 18 euro a liter. Ouch!!! I figured I can wash out baggis, the grinder, this pile of crystals and soak duff in it for a good tincture. Isn't this the pure crystals that the grinder screen collects? I thougth it would have a lot of kick! Dang it.... how is the prescription tincture made? Oil based with little flavor. I few drops is effective. ;-)

If you want to make any type of concentrates, you need to have a decent amount of material. Few grams will only provide a few little hits of concentrates.
